They have just raised fuel taxes again and want to use that money to advocate for rail, bicycle and pedestrian spending. In other words, promote further income inequality. Only the rich will be able to afford and drive cars while everyone else can take public transportation, ride bikes, or just plain walk. The good news is they aren't arresting anyone for jay-walking anymore, and, you can urinate and defecate too without being arrested, all pluses if you're walking.

It's a shame that a corporate conspiracy destroyed the greatest public transit system in the world, or people could just hop on a street car in L.A.

But it would cost trillions to rebuild what criminal capitalism and corporate psychopathy destroyed.

But biking is good too, so there's still that! :)

Yeah, that's been a winner for CA, not. At least 15 years into the $113 billion venture and none of it is done yet. Testing on the first 171 mile segment isn't slated until 2028--pretty poor performance for 20 years.

Ummm...don't know if you are being facetious but Democrats have been in control of California for decades. Schwarzenegger was a Democrat in Republican sheepskins. So, it had nothing to do with the Capitalists and everything to do with the Socialists.

Glenn Beck did anything on how California itself causes it's own high prices by putting restrictions and charging companies high prices in order to do business in California which in turn raises prices in the state for consumers.

This video he talks about fuel and pork industries mainly even showing letters and responses by 2 of Californias biggest gas suppliers where Gavin newsom demanded they explain their high prices and they cited all of newsoms own regulations that cause them to be high.

Facetious?

The L.A. transit system was destroyed by corporate greed.

Yes; AFTER the transit system was destroyed.

You seem to be confusing 70+ years ago with now, and I have no idea what any socialists might have to do with the capitalist psychopaths who destroyed mass transit in L.A. some 70+ years ago.

california has mass transit

Government paid for, built.

25 years ago I tried to take that mass transit 65 miles, from south orange county to the mexican border. It cost $22 back then, 5 times as much as I would pay for gas in my car. It also took 4 hours. I drive I could make in a little more than an hour.

California never lost mass transit, it is just poorly run and is expensive, nobody wants to use it.

I told the person selling tickets for the Train, if they lowered the price a lot more people would use the train, her reply, "we sell out all the time."

I looked out and saw the train had only two passenger cars. I told her, "you are a train, you could add more cars, trains cant sell out."

The stupidity in California is the only problem.

Like everything in Mexifornia…things are only affordable and or free for bottom feeding degenerate filth and illegal brown people.
Productive positive contributors always get fucked while Mexico’s trash rides on our backs for free.

I remember when the tijuana river dumed raw sewage into San Diego, we argued and bickered with mexico to clean the river, the solution, a sewage treatment plant built by the USA to fix Mexico's negligence.

When will we over throw that 3rd world hell hole. We should vote on this, a vote to attack mexico and take it over. The vote would only be open to illegal aliens in the USA.

3rd world hell holes have no right to exist, especially adjacent to us.

I've posted a few times the ridiculous Silicon Valley mass transit. If your job is near a stop by the light rail tracks, lucky you perhaps. Most can't walk or bike 5 miles in commute traffic to any hi-tech job. They are spread out 100sq mi at min. No one can afford to live in a decent home near jobs but two income rich families. Those who have been there for decades and moved up.

If you're poor and live 40 miles south you have to get to the light rail. Bus train car (park) rideshare transfers etc. The further north you work the more hopelessly slow avg 17mph.

Repeat all on the way home. 4 hours total minimum?

a simple solution, build cheap affordable housing where the work is.

California will not do that, they need expensive housing so that they can have expensive property tax.

If you go on a flight AND you can park your car along the light rail (maybe at your company)? Talk you companion into dragging suitcases on streetwalking,
You can ride to 1st st. & Brokaw? The wait for an Airport bus to SJ airport.

Or take $40 car to the airport? Or pay at least $30 day parking. There is no free lunch if you dont get free drop off & pickup.

There are some APTs throughout the valley. But best location is costly.

People also change jobs so often, they may be reasonably close....then suddenly 25 mi. Away from the new one.

^ So much bad information.

Los Angeles once had the greatest mass transit system in the world.

Then criminal capitalism happened.

It would cost trillions to rebuild what criminal capitalist greed destroyed.

The current system is but a shadow of what criminal capitalist psychopathy destroyed some 70 years ago.

You keep babbling how criminal capitalism destroy mass public transportation. Give a detailed account of how this happened.
