However, it was not the HOF Frank Thomas.

I remember Dick Allen in his later years here in Chicago on the Sox! I think he was called KING w/ that ego of his! Also remember his brother brought on; probably being paid out of Allen's salary!

He was involved in the trade where the Reserve Clause was eliminated which kept players on teams. Curt Flood was involved in the trade to the Phillies. And he did not want to go. A judge heard the case and eliminated it. Thus, free agency started.
