I soon as I saw the subject line, I just KNEW it was typical conservative misdirection BS. Sure enough, I read the story, and the man was arrested for disorderly conduct. The only thing I wonder at this point is whether or not the man WANTED to get arrested in order to bring more attention to this issue. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if he had already lined up some RW organization to take up his cause and sue the school district.

The title of the article and thread is a lie. He was arrested for out of control, belligerent behavior, not for protesting about a book his daughter was reading in school. If the rest of the parents were okay with the book, then this guy hasn't any ground to stand on. If he dislikes the orientation and curriculum of the school, he should home school her or put her in another school, most likely private and religious, where he finds the curriculum compatible with his beliefs. He doesn't get to modify the curriculum based on his private beliefs when the rest of the parents are fine with it.

First, the title of the thread is misleading at best. It is yellow journalism and propaganda. It states an untruth as if it were truth; it is intentionally misleading. The man was out of control and disruptive to the meeting. He was not abiding by the rules of taking his turn and the delegated amount of time to speak.

Second, it is not the school board who arrested him. The police make the decision whether or not to arrest someone. The school board cannot and does not order the police to arrest someone. This man was disorderly and belligerent with the police. He was arrested, by the police at their discretion, for disorderly conduct, not because he was voicing opposition to the book taught in his child's school.
