Obama understands that we are in the mess we are in, not because of his actions, but because Bush followed the Repubs ideas of trickle down. And tax giveaways. And unpaid for wars. And "free" perscription drug coverage. Etc. All those ideas which didn't work.

And Obama understands that IF Mittens is Pres, then he will make all the Bush policies permanent. And failure will then be locked in.

Why not let Mittens have it (the economy and Presidency) and when complete failure occurs, everyone (except Rethugs) can blame Mittens.

The economy would have been much but without stimulus, the nation would have been better without mandatory health care, the nation would be better if Obama decided to concentrate on job creation, instead of just saving his job. If Obama understood trickle down the way you claim, he should have raised the taxes to the rich, he didn't, despite having control of both houses of Congress and now today he is using it as a wedge. There has to be some reason he keep the cuts in place.

1996- Got laid off because the company closed it's entire Chicago Branch on the theory they could service the Chicago Area from Milwaukee where the owners lived. They couldn't. Company was out of business a year later.

2001- Got laid off because the company I worked for reorganized, eliminating our entire department. Again. Nothing to do with me personally.

2008- Got laid off because the company I worked for lost it's biggest account. Even then, they struggled to keep me around for a year as they worked to get that account back, and they had no one else who really understood it, so they had me doing "busy work".

Of four companies I've left in the last 20 years, three of them approached me to go work for them again.

So, uh, no, guy. Please stop trying to make my disdain for the way business is frequently done in this country about me.

I could give you a similar sob story about how I became disenchanted with unions, with one exception: After the union stabbed me in the back, I was never again a member of one.

When I was young and could hardly speak English, I worked in a small Northern community, where the only decent employers were the mines, at which at one I worked.
One hot summer evening, I clocked in, but then I left, without telling anyone. The next eight hours, everyone was looking for me, assuming that I perished underground.

When the truth came to be known, I was not only fired, but I was blackballed - deservedly - in the entire town.

Was my life ruined? HELL, NO!! I had enough native intelligence to know that if I am not wanted here, I have to go somewhere else. The next mine I applied for a job, at a different mining town, hundreds of miles away, I told them what happened before, and asked for another chance. When I was given that chance, I expressed my gratitude with working harder than I ever worked in my life. When that mine closed down due to running out of valuable ore, I was kept on for salvage work, in spite of my short seniority.

Nobody's life is ruined by a lay-off. Only the lives of those who depend on some union thug speak for them, not knowing that the same union thug will be the first to piss on them when the going gets rough.
