Dumb Women on Fox News

That postulation was the OP's strawman. And I notice he's long since abandoned thread.

It's no strawman, stupid liberal morons are the most hypocritical bunch of fucking retards I've ever came across.

Riiiiiight. Roll tape.
For the past 10 years FOX News has had higher ratings and the largest audience numbers (for news and business/political "talk" programs) than all the other TV and Cable news channels combined, which includes: CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS!

Some folks claim that FOX's higher ratings are only because FOX purposely hires a lot of female "reporters" who do nothing but sit around in short skirts and merely "read everything off of a teleprompter".

Bottom line: The next time you hear someone criticizing FOX News for supposedly having a "bunch of dumb gals" as eye candy . . . Check out their qualifications...let them speak for themselves!

<snip>

Pop quiz: WHO suggested Fox News has a "bunch of dumb gals"?

The OP, with the phrase "some people say"

-- which, tellingly, is exactly the same phrase Fox Noise itself uses to erect its own strawman and unattached rhetorical bias.

Now, I don't prescribe to the notion that ALL liberals are stupid morons, but the ones who are, are complete hypocritical morons. See the thread crying about the Obama girls for more proof of that.

I neither know nor care about that thread but it's obviously got nothing to do with this one. You're trying to bring in a red herring for the purpose of setting up a hasty generalization broad-brush ad hominem. Wait, read me the part about "idiots" again?

Of course that thread has something to do with this one, they both are proof of the lies and hypocrisy of the left.

First it's "liberals", now it's "the left". Why don't I go get something to eat while you make up your mind...

Please don't continue to insult your own intelligence by pretending that before this thread no one had dared to say that the conservative women in general and the women on Fox in particular are stupid. It's embarrassing, for you.

Link?

"Embarrassing"?? You're the one who suggested it -- and I just proved you wrong. With something the OP never used -- a link.

Why is that EVERY TIME you try to give a liberal the benefit of the doubt and have a rational discussion with them they go full retard?

aaaaand we're right back to "liberals" and ad hom.
snore.gif

Well, good to know the blanket statement is at least consistent. So there's that.

Um is there a difference between a liberal and someone on the left? Uh no there isn't.

Ummm yes there is. It's prolly over your head though.

Sorry you feel that being called a liberal is an ad hom, but it's merely pointing out what you are.

Thank you. Not everybody gets that. Not even you.

Seriously pal, I've seen more coherent thought processes from Pee Wee Herman.

You're either lying or being stupid. Maybe both.

Meanwhile the low information left relies on the ....freaking ....comedy channel... for it's news analysis with editorials by stand up comics like Jon Stewart.

I'm not going to say that women of Fox "News" are sharp as a bag of tacks, but the men on that network are even dumber:

And this ^^ is why what Fox does isn't "news" at all but more like a game show channel. Actual news isn't about "exposing" and value-judging and analyzing; it's about simply going out and finding and recounting what happened -- who, what, when, where, that's it.

Kind of like going to Joe's Diner and finding out that the place doesn't actually serve food, they just sit and talk about how good or bad yesterday's meal was.

The vast majority of people in this country don't get news from those cable channels. They get it from NBC, ABC, CNN, PBS, BBC and local affiliate stations.

Nope, they're not, and yes they do. And what they choose comprises "news" is another element of that -- day after day about how Michael Jackson died and the next missing white girl... not because it's real news but because it really sells.

Thing is, CNN used to be actual news, had bureaus and correspondents all over the planet to get it, and was the only place to go for instant news any time. Murdoch came along and invented the format of News Theater (which draws more eyeballs via emotional hooks and as a bonus is also a lot cheaper to produce). Because all of those channels are based on profit, this of course was more "successful" (read: made more money) and CNN's support base eroded. To their discredit CNN and later MSNBC followed the Fox model down the hole, and that's why we have precious little actual news while News Theater, we have that out the yinyang.

You could always try al Jazeera.

How can we take you seriously when you start your post off with a fallacy?

And none of the men or women have to "read" a teleprompter. Any one of them can hold their own in a debate or discussion with any liberal puke.

Boy, you said it. Love Megyn Kelly. Her ten years as a litigator has served her very well. Her show is number 2 in cable news. Bill, of course...#1. ( thanks to his vast liberal audience as well as conservatives ) I always enjoy his Talking Points. He writes those himself. Talent, everywhere at Fox News and at Fox Business News. Fox has really branched out.

She screwed up last night. One of the Democratic Black Caucus members that made that disgusting display on the House floor was on last night talking over the top of her and he left her plenty of openings and and she failed to expose him.

Is any "news" channel any different? MSNBC, CNN?

They specialize in political commentary and intermittent news reports.
The vast majority of people in this country don't get news from those cable channels. They get it from NBC, ABC, CNN, PBS, BBC and local affiliate stations.

They can't get from CNN all that much. PBS? Nope. BBC, I don't watch it enough to say for sure.

PBS is probably the best domestic source for real news (on television) as it doesn't engage in the emotional stuff. The direct benefit of not being profit-based; when you don't depend on emotional hooks for your income, you don't have to use them.

It's also why it has neither the ratings nor the resources of a CNN in its heyday.

BBC is also non-profit-based, as is CBC, which is where I get most of my news -- but there I'm talking radio, which is an inherently superior medium anyway.

PBS was here at Ft Campbell doing interviews with some of the A Team members in my last unit. Greasy hair and black pajama tops. They were hoping for SOB stories about harsh treatment from Bush.

I watch the local affiliate half hour news burst, most of it filled with local stuff and weather. They generally just give the basics, a kind of heads up, on national and international news. If I see something of particular interest I will surf the other news programs, all of them, to zero in on the subject matter and figure the spins. From there I go online for further research and spin separation.

Is this a joke?

One we inhabit, yes.
Actually everything on TV is a joke, so within the idea of deriving news from television it could be considered a joke within a joke. M.C. Escher is laughing his staircases off.
