Duh... Muslim is anti-America

hate-filled thread you guys have here.

I thought America was the melting pot? Where everyone was created equal? Where you are free to practice your religion?

An issue like wearing a veil seems to me one of those things that just has to be worked out within the culture. For example, Jehovah's Witnesses don't want blood transfusions. Fine, so the culture has worked out that they can refuse them for themselves but cannot refuse them for their children. This strikes a fair balance between respecting their religion and saving their children's lives.

Sure, a lot of Muslims are angry with the U.S. Did you ever consider they might have reasons? You seem to forget that Saddam Hussein used to be our ally, and that we sided with him in the Iran/Iraq war. You seem to forget that we installed a dictator, the Shah of Iran, over a more popular elected leader. We have meddled in many unpleasant ways around the globe. Americans seem to have short memories for these things, but other peoples don't.

America was built by and for the white? Have you seen the estimates for the trillions of dollars in value the enslaved Africans added to American financial assets? Care to give that money back?

Do you forget that during the Christian Dark Ages, there were 1000 years when the Arab civilizations were far more advanced than the Christian ones--and without their contributions, our Enlightenment period would not have taken place. The first Greek and Roman texts which set off the last few hundred years of Western progress were translated from Arabic.

Do you forget that the 4th Crusade, in which the West sacked the vast library at Alexandria, was perhaps the most civilization-destroying moment in our history? So much ancient knowledge was burned as "heathen," thousands of books.

Look at words like algebra and alcohol. Arab words. Look at your own computer keyboard, which contains "Arabic" numerals, which work far better for math than Roman numerals did. That'll give a hint of what we owe Muslim culture.

Mariner.

The number one greatest cause of death has always been meteors. There is evidence that a civilization ender hit the Middle East relatively recently, the damn things killed the dinosaurs and created disastrous climate changes.
