It's far more than a matter of semantics. This was terrorism on a military base meaning that the survivors and the families of the dead are eligible for certain benefits including medical care. The ones who were killed and injured are entitled to battlefield medals. Reducing this to workplace violence, as if it was an argument that got out of hand denies military members and their families the benefits of service.

The attack by hasan was no different than any other insider attack. That's the way it should have been treated.

Um, okay, this is nothing new. Active Duty Military are NOT supposed to engage in political activity.

As for Hasan, if the Army had done its job and discharged him when he asked to be discharged, they wouldn't have had a problem.
