Do YOU Know Who Is Teaching Your Children?

The liberal wackjobs teach a totally fucked up partisan interpretation of history. They want kids to be good little socialists. I know this seems right to you; you'll probably do the same thing.

So your problem is with the system.
More than this one teacher.

Yes. That is true. This teacher and many like her who teach their partisanship as fact are the problem.

Got it! So like I stated, there would not be much of a difference between yourself teching your kid or this teacher!

Well, I don't see why you assume I would teach the same things/ways that this teacher does...

nycflasher, I think you missed my point. Of course teachers, especially those within the social studies are going to have their opinions, it would be nice if there was alot of diversity among the department, but that is unlikely.

I said in my original post that I think that it's only logical and fair for the teacher to let the students know by discussion where their tendencies lie on the political spectrum, but THEN step up and use those discussions to bring in as many points of view as possible.

At the middle school age, many students will mimic their teachers, especially if current events are not discussed at home. Believe me, it's very easy for me to tear apart the 'Republican' perspectives, probably as well or better than you. I can do the same with presenting and discussing the 'Democratic' points of view. Libertarian, Socialist, and Communist. That is one's job as a teacher.

Doesn't mean that I have to agree with any or all. One thing that doesn't belong in any high school or grammar school and that's anarchy.

Thanks Evil, through your post I caught my spelling error. Just like a teacher, catch someone else!

Hmmm, I was wondering what your deal was Flasher!:D

Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have more responsibility here than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. I know deep down in places you dont talk about at parties, you don't want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

Don't make me hurt you, Evil.:death:

:D Have you seen A Few Good Men?
Pretty cool movie.
That was pretty much the definitive quote, so forget you read it if you haven't seen it yet...

I did see it, but I don't hear real well. I like to caption and it doesn't have the same feel. Well, never mind, I don't think the hearing can get this.

Now, quotes from books....

I "hear" ya :D

Try these on for size, from a few of my favorite authors:

Half of the American people have never read a newspaper. Half never voted for President. One hopes it is the same half.
-Gore Vidal

"You can never get the smell of smoke out. Like the smell of failure in life."
- John Updike, Rabbit Redux

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut. -Ernest Hemmingway

Write something, even if it's just a suicide note. -
Gore Vidal
