This is absolutely disturbing, but I'm not surprised. You really should talk to your children's teachers and find out if they have an agenda. It's pretty obvious to all of you where I stand politically. I am honest with my kids, since only a fool would think kids won't see where you are coming from when discussing current events. The thing is, It's my job to make them prepared citizens, not GOPers. I get that. Election of 2000 there were kids whose parents were voting for Gore and one girl, contrary to her parents, was for Nader. Well do ya think a history teacher should be able to present all sides? Challenge the kids to discuss the differences? Read this and think, not all teachers bother to keep their agendas for adults. http://www.lt-smash.us/archives/002979.html#002979
"Yeah I teach a class in revolutionary history" No mention of the American revolution. I'd really like to throttle this lady.
One of my my future children's teachers could be a anti-war protestor, one could work for the Bush campaign in his spare time. I don't care. As long as they teach my child to think for themselves and are teaching an APPROVED curriculum, I'm cool.
Yeah, and I wonder just exactly what tone and direction her revolutionary history class takes? Your a fool if you don't think teachers try in subtle ways to shape young minds to their way of thinking.
Yep, I would be. And our children would all be fools if we picked teachers based on their political views.
