It's true. The democrats will now retain the senate and that means that the economy rest on their shoulders. It looks like Obama will not negotiate with the republicans and with Reid's fishy win after the power went out in Nevada and poll machines went offline, he will be just as partisan as Obama. All this means is that Palin will now have ammo against them and she will use that to her advantage in 2012 to take the office of the presidency away from Obama if he isn't kicked out of office due to republican investigations into his eligibility issue of being a non Natural Born Citizen. This is good news indeed for Palin and the nation as a whole. Her stellar record as governor and executive experience will be beneficial to her.

Although unemployment hasn't started to fall, the economy is improving. If unemployment starts a downtrend in the next 18 months, as most economist predict, Obama will be a shoe in.

Obama is always pictured by the opposition as a far left idealist. Nothing could be further from the truth. His entire approach to politics is pragmatic. Without control of Congress, he will steal a page out of the Republican play book, which means reducing the deficit and cuts in government spending. The big legislative push will be immigration and energy. Just as in the past, votes on these issues will cut across party lines.

What did I predict just last week. Once the GOP won I said CON$ would suddenly claim that the President will control spending even though they have been saying Bush was not responsible for spending since the Dems took over in Jan 2007.
Unless, of course, the economy improves, then the CON$ will take FULL credit for it.

You really need to wake up now. Palin will not be President. Can't happen. The numbers don't add up. You need more than the TEA Parties to win the Presidency - and it only those people that like her.

And that is the CON$ervative mantra, as long as there is some Dem control somewhere, if anything goes wrong it's the Dem's fault. The GOP House has no say in Gov spending any more even though CON$ have been claiming the debt increased $5 trillion since Pelosi became speaker.

But if the economy improves the credit will be due completely and solely to the GOP House controlling the spending.

You may be right that she may not be president, but she has a very good chance of getting the GOP nomination. A much smaller number of people vote in primaries and there the Teabaggers might have the numbers to get her the nomination, especially if there is no opposition in the Dem primary and the Dems turn "Operation Chaos" back on the GOP.

I hope Palin runs for POTUS in 2012. She is a damn fine politician and would make a fine president.

I'm sure she has some fine qualities. However, if she gets the nomination, kiss the Presidency goodbye. She is too divisive. She is adored by much of the right - great. But, in this country, you cannot win the Presidency without the Independents... and she will not carry them.

you clearly dont understand the constitutional ways this country is governed

the budget is controlled by the congress (both house and senate) and all new SPENDING must begin in the House

no, the GOP must be the ones to control the budget
they will be the ones held responsible for it

Probably not. With Obama neutered, activity for the next two years is probably gonna be minimal. Bill here, veto there, maybe a couple of shit everyone's gonna go for. And as sad and strange as it may sound, that would probably do wonders for Obama campaign against Palin in 2012.

It always seems that Americas prefer a useless president than a potentially terrible one, and judging by past performance, Obama's gonna be even more useless now than he's been the past 2 years - the conservatives won't have as much to be yelling and screaming about and the liberals will make a slightly less limp effort to come out just for shits and giggles (which is what seems to occur during general elections). As for Palin, 2/3rds of Americans dislike her, though that one third may be enough to get her the primary if the candidate field remains as pathetic as it stands today, unless someone like John Thune or now this Rubio guy manage to crawl out ahead. Still, two years from now, who knows.

Army why must you pollute these boards with your stupidity?
