1st, the military has it's own laws called the uniformed Code of military Justice. It doesn't make one bit of difference what any local, or state law says the military cannot prosecute using those laws.

Now so the Senate repealed article 125. So what? This still has to go to the House. I'm sure someone will rearrange it so that 125 is left in covering bestiality and taking out sodomy. Simple as that.... So whip out an email to your congressman to take care of that.....

Other than that this bill has multiple other problems which I have little doubt congress will screw up. Maybe Obama will get to use his Veto power on it after all.......... But not for the bestiality thing.

And yes that should not be removed from the UCMJ, unfortunately it may be needed...... Soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines are human..... It happens and it's bad for ya.....

What's wrong with the missile defense system portion that you noted?

First off..there use to be treaties against developing them..and Bush unilaterialy opted out of them. This caused a lot of grief on the diplomatic front.

Secondly..the systems don't work. They have "manufactured" tests to do "proof of concept". But you have to have clear conditions and have knowledge of exactly when the target is launched and from where. And even under those conditions, the targets were stopped a handful of times.

Third..its a very expensive system. One that is easily defeated by using either dummy targets or multiple warheads. ROI is a disaster.

Fourth..it's provocative. And encourages a new arms race.

Overall it's just lousy policy.
