Facebook and Twitter provide platforms for other people to air their opinions. Facebook and Twitter themselves were not slandering anybody, so I don't think there is a lawsuit here, but they certainly have no face left to claim they are unbiased. Conservative posters have had their accounts removed for offenses far less egregious than threatening the lives of children like plenty of leftists were doing.

If media such as Facebook and Sh←←Twitter exercised no control over the content that its users shared via these services, then they could probably get away with claiming status as a “common carrier”, bearing no responsibility whatsoever for whatever content may be shared through them.

By imposing significant controls over the content that appears on their services, and especially by censoring content that expresses legitimate opinions beliefs, and facts that they find disagreeable, they take responsibility for all of their content, in my opinion. If they then allow content to be shared that makes illegal threats of violence or terrorism, then they become willing accomplices to these crimes, and ought to face criminal prosecution as such.
