Colin Kapernick

Yeah right. Try putting all that on a bumper sticker!

"Lock her up"

"Make them Stand"

That's about all their little minds can hold on too.

"Build da wall"

No one should have to make you stand. You should stand and show respect to the country where you live because you live here. If someone is protesting because of perceptions they have in certain situations, this is not the way to fix the problem. If they think it is, they deserve to be chastised not for standing but for being a dumbass.
Well, since you don't buy what the protesters were originally protesting about, I can see why you think that. CK did get SOME attention on the issue prior to this huge kerfluffle. Personally, I salute the flag. I don't like to see it set on fire or used as a rug, but I keep reminding myself it is only a piece of fabric and what a protester does to symbolically attack it is only symbolic as well. We are a strong country and we remain free enough to allow people to be angry and act that out in peaceable demonstration. We went through all of this back in the 60's and 70's. Do we really have to go through this all again? There's better stuff to worry about.

stupid RW dipshits have been whining for two days for the wrong reason.

Police brutality and racial inequality was the ORIGINAL REASON Kaperinic took a knee in 2016.

Lie, Spin, bitch ... Trump is too damn stupid to be truthful - his idiot drones are too damn stupid to do anything but kiss his ass. Total confusion leading to horseshit rants for the wrong reasons.

Police brutality. And racial inequality. That's what demonstrations during the national anthem are about!

That's what Colin Kaepernick knelt for last year, long before Trump was in office. Kaepernick was never specifically protesting about Trump. Heck, Kaepernick had harsh words for Hillary Clinton, too. His protest was about African-Americans getting shot by police officers, profiled by law enforcement and labeled as dangerous thugs by society. That's a crisis that predates the Trump presidency by decades.

Kaepernick's message was initially distorted, garbled and repurposed by those who specialize in distorting, garbling and repurposing any messages they don't want to hear. The get the hell out of my countrycrowd has always been too dedicated to being part of the problem, dating back to the civil rights movement, to listen to the likes of Kaepernick. But plenty of other athletes and activists understood Kaepernick's cause and rallied to it.

He picked the wrong venue to create his version of awareness. I'm not talking about a stadium.... I'm talking about the moment 50k to 100k fans on their feet saluting the Flag. He should have led a coalition of players to put forth television and radio ads, perhaps putting in some of his own money.

No, it's about claimed police brutality and inequality.
And supporting the notion that blacks in this country should enjoy privileges even beyond affirmative action which discriminates against others so they don't have to work as hard to get ahead.

BLM has taken the privilege up a notch by supporting the notion that black criminality should be overlooked and they should experience absolutely no repercussions for their behavior.

I don't buy it because it's not true. Same reason I don't buy into professional wrestling.

When a protestor burns it, they aren't burning symbolism, they're burning what the flag represents. If they hate the country enough to burn what the flag symbolizes, why the fuck don't they leave.

Maybe that's why BLM protests against the police. They don't like that police won't let them break the law and won't ignore their actions.

its damn sure NOT about anything Trump and his idiot drones imagine its about.

I stated what it's about. CLAIMS of something.
The OP, though, isn't about whether BLM has a valid beef. It is about Trump's fans turning it into an issue about patriotism. Long leap there, from six guys quietly protesting, to suddenly the country inflamed about respect for the flag and how they should be FORCED to salute. Where did the protest about police brutality go? Completely underwater now, and the protesters being pressured to stop because of an argument that has nothing to do with the initial protest.
just curious do you think all cops are bad? just wondering where you draw your line. what percentage if not all.
So I just put up a post reminding folks of the OP topic and you completely ignored it. So I'm ignoring this.

Again. What the fuck do these assholes want from me? Why do I have to stand by and watch these idiots shit on me (yes, they are shiting on America) when they won't give me a reasonable way to end the shitting?

I am in the (L) corner. I want nothing but freedom/liberty for ALL. I sat back and tolerated it for a while, I let them express their frustration and celebrated their right to express themselves, but now it's just getting stupid.

WHAT. THE. FUCK. DO. YOU. WANT?????

Otherwise, stop shitting on Americans, or we're gonna start REALLY shitting on YOU!!!

America: Love it or Change It. I guess burning the flag is a way to get (negative) attention for your cause. But of course, no NFL player was burning the flag.

Burning the flag or acting like a spoiled little black boy, what's the difference?

Ease down, Bootney. Ease down. It's no longer about police brutality. It's about flipping off Trump, plain and simple.

Yet you responded to him.

I realize rationality isn't everybody's long suit, but if you were actually ignoring him, you wouldn't have responded.

I had a woman on another board who must have announced to me a dozen times that she had me on ignore. I always found it amusing how it never dawned on her how silly that made her look.

I stand out of respect for my dad who volunteered during the Korean war and all veterans, not the country (read as politicians) who instigated the Gulf of Tonkin incident or falsely proclaimed Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat to our country to launch a preemptive war on a nation that couldn't even rebuild it's conventional army, much less revive it's long dead WMD programs.....or taunts leader of nuclear armed nations with petty name calling.....

I thought ignore meant you didn't address something.

I had one on this board that keep responding to me about something that can only mean he thinks what I say it true. Otherwise, he'd ignore it.

I just said it was an option. If they think things are as bad as many of them say, why wouldn't they leave. For those that didn't leave, perhaps they didn't think it was as bad as they said.
