Great job saving the American auto industry

Republicans would have sent it to China

Just heard on NBC Nightly News that Chrysler repaid the loans not from profits, but with bank loans and bonds sales.

So Chrysler is no better off than it was before.

They should have gone through bankruptcy. They'd have been better off.

WHY IT MATTERS: Chrysler still owes the U.S. government about $2 billion from the original $10 billion in bailout money. The sooner it shows a profit, the faster it can move toward a public offering of stock. :eusa_whistle:

Did you miss the part where Chrysler is now owned by Italians? Oh, and have you missed the point that American vehicle manufactures have been building cars outside of this country for years?

Obama fucked Chrysler senior secured creditors to turn Chrysler over to his Union thugs.

It's part of the reason the dollar continues to free fall, no one wants to do business with people who run up deficits larger than the entire budget for any other county and then fuck over their debt holders.

And the UNIONS being the main beneficiaries at the expense of the US Taxpayer.

The expense of the taxpayer. They paid us back...with INTEREST!

They did? How then can you account for this: "Chrysler still owes the U.S. government about $2 billion from the original $10 billion in bailout money. "

As posed by another poster here?

Is it a lie? Or did you miss that? I'd say the latter...you dismissed it.

The 12% interest the federal government charged Chrysler for the bail-out money should be a signal to the whole planet that the only thing bogus about the federal debt of the United States is the the refusal of the Boehner/Tea Berseker GOP to raise the debt ceiling.

They make 12% on stuff they borrow for nearly free!

"To pay off the governments, Chrysler raised $3.2 billion through a bond sale and took out $3 billion in lower-interest bank loans. It also will use a $1.3 billion investment from Fiat."

The Boehner family and the McConnel's are so blindly stupid that they's can't see the money coming in for all the zeroes--which they likely thing are Japanese!

The new notes at Chrysler now has to pay on are a lot cheaper than what they were charged.

The U. S. borrows from the Chinese for nothing, and knows where to pull in usury with it.

(Many in China have non-negro dialect, even! Hmmmm(?)!)

Great job saving the American auto industry

Republicans would have sent it to China

Statist just chase manufactuers OUT by oppressive taxation, and oppressive BIG LABOUR demands...you know them as UNIONS...

BIG LABOR made major concessions in the bailout and it ended up saving their jobs

Great Job by the Obama administration

Remember Auto workers.......Republicans said Let it Fail...who needs them?

...and then blamed Obama for not taking "decisive action" to protect American jobs or secure our manufacturing base.

On December 19, 2008, President Bush used his executive authority to declare that TARP funds may be spent on any program that Secretary of Treasury Henry Paulson, deemed necessary to alleviate the financial crisis--a move which allowed President Bush to extend the use of TARP funds to include support the auto industry and, in turn, the United Auto Workers.
