Oh, NO! You are not going to ascribe W. Percy Chrysler's credit to anyone! Without the ingenuity and sheer determination of W. P. Chrysler there will be no Chrysler! Not even the auto industry or banks thought Percy Chrysler could do it! But W. Percy Chrysler did!

Did you forget to take your medication again??

I only function on my natural strength; unlike the likes of you who need daily supply of addictive substances to wake up and help go to sleep: If you can even manage sleep, that is.

If many conservatives had had their way a couple of years ago, Chrysler, the car company, AND all those Chrysler jobs, AND the support jobs in the factory towns, AND many of the automotive supplier jobs which depended on the auto and truck manufacturer would be GONE.

Thankfully, President Obama and his team had far greater vision and a damn sight more common sense than conservatives had.

Both of the stories you linked to have been retracted because they were simply not true. Chrysler never paid us back!

You Lie! - The video has also been removed. Only a commercial plays in its place.

We have forever lost $2 billion in taxpayer money on this Chrysler bailout. There was nearly $2 billion in taxpayer money that was wiped out when old Chrysler went bankrupt. Chrysler Group LLC is technically a different company. Not only that but the new Chrysler Group LLC borrowed the money it paid the government from banks that were bailed out by & borrowed the money from the government. DOH!!! Chrysler Group LLC has lost hundreds of millions of dollars every year since the bailout. Do you really think those new loans will be repaid?

Nope--they wouldn't have been gone they would have restructured without taxpayer dollars.

The airlines do it all the time. Did you notice us bailing out any airline companies--after they have claimed bankruptcy?

From Businessweek:

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, a Republican, broke with his party’s presidential contenders just hours before yesterday’s debate began by saying he believed the bailout worked.

“It wasn’t just one or two companies at risk, but the entire national supply chain,” Snyder told the Detroit News. “Losing that would have had a devastating impact on the economy.”

The auto industry’s post-bailout comeback is one reason that Michigan’s economy is recovering from the recession at the second-fastest pace in the U.S., lifted by reviving carmakers and local manufacturers, according to a new Bloomberg index that tracks the pace of states’ growth.

Dear KissMy:

How can I be a "liar" *as you can see, spelled with an 'a'* when I didn't say anything. I posted a quote, and the attendant link.

Thanks for the rep!

Bankruptcy isn't always the end, besides - GM DID go through bankruptcy. And even if they both did; Chrysler and GM's bankruptcy would not have caused demand for cars to all of a sudden evaporate. It would have remained, the number of cars in the economy would not have been all that impact, meaning the ripple effect would not have been like the liberals said it would.

Chrysler leads the US industry in sales growth in November 2011

November 2011 was another good month for the American automotive industry but the king of the hill was the Chrysler Group with a 45% increase over November 2010 - making the smallest of the Detroit Big 3 the strongest brand in terms of growth last month.

And just think; they could have been a few years in the grave.

American Airlines just filed for BANKRUPTCY--are you suggesting that we bail them out also?

Chrysler Group LLC was actually under ownership by Cerebus Capital Partners, a company that was flush with cash. They thought buying Chrysler from Daimler in 2007 was a good investment but didn't want to be on the hook for the losses despite the fact they could probably have afforded it, so they went to the US govt. How do you progressives like that?
