Chinese Tourists Demand Not to Be Recorded in London

I agree they not only over reacted, but were being abusively hostile.
However, they are correct within the law, which is that you do need to get permission.
The exceptions are when it is a public figure some how, like a move star or cop.
Another legal case is if it is just for evidence, and you intend to delete it instead of publishing it.
Wrong

You do not need permission in a public place.

Read post #3. There is not an absolute right to film people without their permission, much less use their images.

And he was being kind of an asshole. Or maybe just British.
You can film anyone in public. You can walk right up to them and shove a camera right in their face, like people have done to movie stars ever since their were movie stars.

They came up to a guy who was filming himself and they started making demands and shouting. Its weird that you would side with those piece of shit commies. Oh wait, it isnt weird at all. Its exactly what we would expect from you. :dunno:

It's not as clear cut as you think, which is why COPS blurs out the faces of people they can't get releases from.

These women have an excellent case for emotional distress damages.

Have you ever seen blurry pictures of DeCaprio? No? Me neither.

These women have NO case. All they get is international shame. There are a million stories in the news about these cretins.

They have no case. The manufactured the whole thing.

You have the right to film anyone you like in public.

Cops is a Tv show which is different they have to blur or pay.

On the other hand the news media routinely films with no release form and has every right to do so

Movie stars have already forfeit their anonymity by deliberately making themselves public figures.
It is not true with ordinary people.
You have to get them to sign a consent form.

WRONG!
I worked as a stringer and can guarantee the news programs NEVER show anyone on video without getting a signed consent form.

Youre just saying shit now. I know this because, youre wrong. You have "zero expectation of privacy in public spaces". Its the law.

If that was true, you would never see street side camera shots, or any other crowds on tv.

While the rules of the internet can seem murky, it is unlawful for anyone to post images or videos of you or your family on a social media platform without your consent. Each platform has its own privacy policy with its own rules, but there are several ways you can get control if the pictures or videos are yours, including claiming invasion of privacy, defamation, or a violation of your right to publicity.
...}

There is not just one law, but a whole bunch of laws that control privacy, copyrights, etc.
The rule of thumb is that if they have not made themselves a public figure, then they own the copyrights of their own image, and you cannot publish it without consent.

So you're saying the UK government don't know their own laws but a bunch of rag tag commies know UK's law better then the UK government? Hilarious 😆😂

If you put it on the internet, that is considered commercial publishing, even if no money is involved.
The fact everyone often violates the law on the internet, does not mean it is still not illegal technically.

You should reach out to the UK government and ask. My bet is they will tell these commies to fuck off behind the scene.

This is in London.

Do they have freedom of speech in the UK?

All these Chinese people had to do was MOVE THE FUCK ALONG AND GO ON WITH YOUR LIVES.

YOU ARE NOT IN CHINA. YOU ARE IN LONDON.

Maga's always amusing. Normal people would shut off a camera if someone objected to being filmed. It's called ... "not being an asshole"
The amount of Karen go wild videos is proof the above statement is bullshit, but good try
