Career trend 'act your wage' from fed up workers brings job warnings from experts

No one’s expecting you to devote your life to a low paying job

But you should always do your best at any job.

For your own pride, if nothing else

The fact is that no one who has ever been extremely successful only ever worked just 40 hours a week.

Without loyalty or character a contract is meaningless. Just take Canadas Charter of Rights and Freedoms for example...
This isn't Canada. There are certain positions in a company that are held to tight contract standards. More so if they involve the employee being in direct contact with proprietary company information or secret/top secret information. For the most part, a non-compete contract would not be enforced for an everyday employee with no access to proprietary information. In other words, if you can't hurt the company, they usually won't bother enforcing it. However, if you are sales, C level, or have access to proprietary company data, you bet they can enforce those contracts....and they have teeth.

A contract still means little for a person who lacks character or loyalty. I am referring to loyalty to country and your Constitution, not the more common corporate espionage that occurs.

And that is all fine and good but they should not expect $100 worth of pay for $50 worth of work.
This equity crap is just that. If everyone was paid exactly the same, it would take about five minutes for those on the bottom to be on the bottom again. After that, the hue and cry would be to pay them more to make up for their stupidity and lack of ambition. SMFH

Well that's also nonsense.

"Exactly the same"

Dumb non sequitur

Paying the working poor a living wage is not the same as “paying everyone the same”

No one can live off even $15-$20 easily

Less than that is impossible

Life is not easy. As for living on $15/hr. If you can't, you didn't pay attention in school when those skills were taught to every public school student.

Back then, $15/hr was good money

Now it’s shit
It wasn't shit just two years ago. Minimum wage jobs are to work unskilled into productive skilled workers over time. If you want to sweep floors for a living, you get paid what that skill is worth. You are a nurse, no? Do you think a burger flipper should get your wage? Hmmmm---that's diiiiiiiifferent, eh?

You guys are lucky that for the most part your social contract with government is respected. In Canada, the Police State has stolen mine and many other driven/talented citizens lives. Hence, our unproductive, uninspired sharply in decline economy.
social contract. i'll stary a thread tomorrow morning and you will learn some shocking things about the usa social contract.

#1, of course, is that american conservatives do not think a "social contract" exists, that all life is transactional, just like jesus created it.

in reality there are a great number of deals, bargains , and contracts many informal, that govern the relationships between classes (which technically do not exist in the usa, but observe the difference in quality, and quantity of justice delivered to a public defender's client as compared to trump, ken lay, or epstein.

Loyalty must be earned. I have worked for an employer who has a long history of showing some "loyalty" to its workers, but that does not mean the system is perfect and that everyone is shown "loyalty" when earnings are down and the country is in a recession, some can be shown the door, but the strivers and those who show "loyalty" through their contributions and attitude, day over day, stay on.

There are still corporations like this in America, but it's an endangered species in the business world.
any corporation with "loyaly" as a principle is already in the sights of a corporate raider. any employee without at least the appearance of loyalty netter be ready for the ax.

$15 has been insufficient for any adult for decades.

i am very sorry for anyone who can no longer afford a hamburger, but working class wages have been stagnant for 40 yesrs, rents have not.

Flipping hamburgers at McDonald's is not working class. It's a step-up job to something better, nothing more.
