Can you 'fess up to your party's warts, can you dare?

I doubt anyone is 100% pleased with their party - Republican or Democratic. I doubt anyone is 100% pleased with the views of the side of their political spectrum, either - left or right.

Can you vocalize/post what the views or platforms of your party's/group's you find difficult to stomach and why? And, if so, why not switch sides? And, if not, what do you view of the other side that is worse? Just generalities - and it doesn't matter if they are reality, but it is more important that it is YOUR reality.

For me, I'm registered Republican. I can just barely stomach the religious right. I find them too authoritarian and am opposed to any legislation of morality. I can stomach them more because I believe the Constitution will prevail in protecting us all from theocracy.

The Democrats are OK, but I find they are too loose with money, too willing to fund entitlements when we have more than enough, and now, too many socialist tendencies. In two words: too nanny.

You can't "stomach the religious right"? Is the threat to a woman's "right" to hire someone to commit manslaughter on her unborn baby what scares you or maybe it's the horror of a "moment of silence" in schools. The sad thing is that the left is a victim of paranoia and propaganda. They won't look at the horrible procedure of partial birth abortion but they think they want it to continue. What a bunch of dumb assed propaganda filled wootzes.

IIRC (I usually do) the 2008 Republican Presidential campaign was over before it even started.

McCain was nominated to run against Hitlery. He stood no chance against the tap-dancing pimp in chief.

I doubt Ronald Reagan could have won that election. The dims had managed to shift the blame for everything they did wrong -- CRA, the dim-controlled House & Senate beginning in 2006, the Financial Meltdown, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac -- They managed to shift all the blame for that onto the Republicans.

And a not-very-inquisitive public swallowed the story, hook, line and sinker from the lying FILTH in the LSM. obama is their boy-o

I'm hoping The People are paying a little more attention this time around.

And the republicans always take responsibility for what they did and never blame everything on democrats.

:cuckoo:

They don't have to. The FILTH in the LSM is more than willing to point out ANY mistakes made by Republicans to the American People.

Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and.......

So since the media points out mistakes in the rep party, it's ok for the rep party to not take any responsibility in government problems and to blame everything on dems?

So, in case anyone is wondering about my question, I was having a discussion with someone last night about how one party states are doomed to failure. Then we both started wondering if we are really just that at this point - a one party state.

the one party state is just around the corner. when the takers outnumber the givers, and the givers vote for those who give unto them.. then that party will always dominate.. I think right now we are at 51% givers and 49% takers. enjoy your freedom while it lasts.

So, does anything bother you about the GOP? What about the Dems? And, which can you stomach better?

Dry humor is sometimes hard to read on the internet, so in re-reading it it's not bad, but it's not brilliant.

I'll get it next time

The Religious Right has some, but not very much, say in the Republican Party.

The radical extremists completely, totally and absolutely control, inside and out, from top to bottom the dimocrap party.

The party of JFK died at the 1968 DNC Convention in Chicago.

The religious right is the reason why McCain was able to run for president in 2008.

Romney had all the momentum, then the religious right went all in on Huckabee despite him having no chance, and McCain won by default.

What was the penalty for non compliance with the CRA?
I mean if you're going to assign blame on the CRA and the host of other thing you listed, you have PROOF that it mattered, right? Because noncompliance with the CRA meant the DREADFUL penalty of NOTHING. There were NO ramifications of noncompliance other than non participation in federal banking programs. So, how exactly did the CRA, with NO PENALTIES for violating it, cause anything?

Also, you might want to review the congressional investigation into the subprime meltdown.

The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission reported in 2011 that Fannie & Freddie "contributed to the crisis, but were not a primary cause." GSE mortgage securities essentially maintained their value throughout the crisis and did not contribute to the significant financial firm losses that were central to the financial crisis. The GSEs participated in the expansion of subprime and other risky mortgages, but they followed rather than led Wall Street and other lenders into subprime lending.
Subprime mortgage crisis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Who wrote the legislation that made subprime lending possible? Why that would be Phil "Foreclosure" Gramm. Is HE a dim-ocrat?
Why don't you read the laws Gramm wrote and rammed through congress? Why don't you spend 5 MINUTES learning the truth? Gee, it COULDN'T be that the guy who wrote the ENRON LOOPHOLE into law, is responsible for OTHER MELTDOWNS in the financial sector, could it? Why that would be INCONCEIVABLE that a guy who wrote laws letting businesses dabble in manipulating financial markets had a hand in the meltdown, isn't it?

You sir, are an idiot. A low grade moron who has zero command of the facts at hand who makes comments that only expose your ignorance which borders on incompetence or you are a liar.

As for the OP.
Dems are too weak for my tastes. We need another aggressive leader like FDR who isn't afraid to take on monied interests.

But Republicans? They lie. They misrepresent. They hide behind semantics and double speak. And their worst offense? They are almost completely oblivious to the suffering of middle class american while Reaganomics ran roughshod over them. Why in god's name would I put people in charge of government who don't believe it works? If you think government can't work for anyone, you probably won't even try.

Which is why, when you have people like "heckuva job Brownie" in positions of power, they fail utterly.

Is an idiot smarter than a moron but not as smart as an imbecile or verse vice-a

I forget

I'm glad Decepticon is here, I can't think of anyone who'd be more honest and down the middle about the 2 parties than him.

I can't count how many times he's been honest and will readily point out flaws in or mistakes made by the Democrat party.

...

I left the DNC in 2008. Now I am one of those losers without party affiliation. Free at last, thank gawd almighty I'm free at last.

The CRA did not lead to the meltdown. The Democrats didn't take contol of both houses until 2007. Members of both parties played significant roles in the meltdown.

The Democrats could have nominated anyone and they would have beaten the Republicans in 2008. Why. President Bush was the face of GOP, of course.

Another great post by Franco, when you have a debt and spending problem, you spend your way out of it.

Republicans don't do things like this --

Barack Obama has remained silent as the usual suspects have been busy stirring up hate aimed at George Zimmerman, the Florida Hispanic involved in the shooting death of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin. Now the anger has taken a new twist, breaking out on Twitter with an account named “Kill Zimmerman.” It features an image of Zimmerman in crosshairs.

Only leftists do things like that. It takes a certain kind of scumbag to be a leftist.

Seriously

Please listen carefully...

With your left hand, firmly grasp your right ear...

With your right hand firmly grasp your left ear....

Now give a sharp tug..

That popping sound you hear is the noise of your head exiting your ass.
