I doubt anyone is 100% pleased with their party - Republican or Democratic. I doubt anyone is 100% pleased with the views of the side of their political spectrum, either - left or right.

Can you vocalize/post what the views or platforms of your party's/group's you find difficult to stomach and why? And, if so, why not switch sides? And, if not, what do you view of the other side that is worse? Just generalities - and it doesn't matter if they are reality, but it is more important that it is YOUR reality.

For me, I'm registered Republican. I can just barely stomach the religious right. I find them too authoritarian and am opposed to any legislation of morality. I can stomach them more because I believe the Constitution will prevail in protecting us all from theocracy.

The Democrats are OK, but I find they are too loose with money, too willing to fund entitlements when we have more than enough, and now, too many socialist tendencies. In two words: too nanny.

The Religious Right has some, but not very much, say in the Republican Party.

The radical extremists completely, totally and absolutely control, inside and out, from top to bottom the dimocrap party.

The party of JFK died at the 1968 DNC Convention in Chicago.

Several years ago, the democrat party could have been saved.

They've gone 'all in' now and it's too late.

They are now the dimocrap party consisting of varying degrees and types of socialism. Everything from democratic socialism/social democracy, to a Chavez type socialism to downright communists of the Maoist and Stalinist variety.

If the Stuttering Clusterfukk gets re-elected, we'll start out as a soft, French-style socialism, devolve into a broken Greek-style socialism and, if they get what they want -- A totalitarian socialist/statist government within 25 years.

It all hinges on this election. We lose -- You're doomed. Not me. I won't be here when it happens.

I don't care whether you choose to believe it or not. It's up to you.

It just amazes me that people, even people as unbelievably stupid as American libtards, would willingly VOTE themselves into a dictatorship. Because that's the ONLY way a socialist government can exist. It MUST be near-totalitarian.

Unreal

I disagree with your first statement about there not being anyone who is not 100% satisfied with their party. I submit the names truthmatters, rdean and chris as evidence of you being incorrect in that assumption.

As for me, I can and have expressed disatisfaction with my side which is one reason I am no longer either a Democrat nor a Republican. I registered on my 18th birthday as a Democrat. Approximately 18 years later, not exactly sure when so that is a guess, I switched to Republican due to my views on many issues including abortion. A few years later, in 2005, I realized Republicans were little more than Democrats with a whitewashing of morality and dumped the Republican Party as well.

I doubt I will ever join another "party". I find good points in the left and in the right, but lots of bad on both sides as well.

Yes, I would say that I can fess up about the warts on my side.

Immie

Yep, democrats have their own theology.. it's called environmentalism, it's fascinating to me that people cannot stomach the word God,, but are too damn willing to let the gods of democrats tell you what kind of bag to bring your groceries home in, what kind of lightbulb you must buy, what kind of car you should drive, and in addition they tell you how much of your hard earned money you must give to them so they can bribe their constituencies to vote for them.. When I weigh the Republicans against the democrats the Republcans and their Christian right win every single time. I can't remember when the last time was that a Christian passed a law the bent me out of shape.

Damn good point.

Thanks. And, thanks for the rest.

Environmentalism is just a means to an end.

You don't know how these people think, I do. I know how they think better than they know how they think.

France is another tipping point. If Sarkozy loses to the socialist he's running against -- Things could get dicey in Europe. And they're predicting his loss.

Next time, I say we let the Germans have France

I've been a Democrat all of my life. I appreciate the normalization of rights for all peoples and orientations. I don't think gays should get special rights like hate crime protections and that sort, but they should be able to marry whoever they wish. The CONUS says we are granted "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness", the ability to marry whoever you wish (so long as they are of legal age) is covered by that.

Basically I am in favor of the maximum amount of individual freedoms and the minimum amount of governmental control as possible. Both parties are taking us towards Socialism. The difference is the speed at which they are doing it. The Dems are going 100 mph while the Repubs are doing it at 75 mph.

I've lived in Socialist countries. They suck. People have very little upward mobility save by criminal means. The criminals in general are protected while the good folks are screwed. They are not allowed to protect themselves and when they are harmed the bad guys are rarely caught or prosecuted.

They just suck.

The religious right is the reason why McCain was able to run for president in 2008.

Romney had all the momentum, then the religious right went all in on Huckabee despite him having no chance, and McCain won by default.

As a registered independant and self-identified libertarian my issues with libertarians are summed up by their ability to let the values of libertarianism blind them in matters of international relations.

As far as republicans go the whole "we are conservative" while passing things like budgets with deficits, medicare part D and the patriot act aggrivates me.

As far as democrats go the whole "we need to spend whatever it takes for the general welfare regardless of the problems such a large debt brings and regardless of the limits to power (obamacare) the constitution puts on the federal govt" really aggrivates me.

IIRC (I usually do) the 2008 Republican Presidential campaign was over before it even started.

McCain was nominated to run against Hitlery. He stood no chance against the tap-dancing pimp in chief.

I doubt Ronald Reagan could have won that election. The dims had managed to shift the blame for everything they did wrong -- CRA, the dim-controlled House & Senate beginning in 2006, the Financial Meltdown, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac -- They managed to shift all the blame for that onto the Republicans.

And a not-very-inquisitive public swallowed the story, hook, line and sinker from the lying FILTH in the LSM. obama is their boy-o

I'm hoping The People are paying a little more attention this time around.

As a fiscal/monetary/constitutional conservative, and a total social issue liberal (the least amount of govt. intrusion is the best) I am almost completely unrepresented by either party. There hasn't been a balanced budget, surplus or sane monetary policy in my entire lifetime. I've watched the constitution get pervertd by the hands of both parties time and time again. I've watched my liberties decrease and crumble at the hands of both sides of the aisle my entire lifetime.

Call me disenfranchised by the establishment.

They don't have to. The FILTH in the LSM is more than willing to point out ANY mistakes made by Republicans to the American People.

Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and.......

So, in case anyone is wondering about my question, I was having a discussion with someone last night about how one party states are doomed to failure. Then we both started wondering if we are really just that at this point - a one party state.
