Can a Pence Presidency stop the 2018 Big Blue Wave.

That is totally dishonest.
Trump isn't afraid to say what's on his mind.
He says what most of America is thinking.

What he says is often STUPID, SMALL and IGNORANT.

Now it may be what some Americans ALSO think, but he is the President, not some guy on the street mouthing off.
I think what you want to do is push some crazy idea that a dishonest president who hates America is better than an honest one that loves America.
That's really warped.

Actually, I think Pence is too far right to win a General Election. I said the same about Cruz and I maintain this position today.
Yep. The party still hasn't figured out that they won't be able to yank this country in their direction with one or two elections.

We got here incrementally, and the crazies don't have the patience to do what would work.
.
The major flaw in that is Democrats don't have anyone who isn't a liar or hasn't been kicked out of Congress for groping women.
Bernie Sanders is too far to the left to win.
So you guys are pretty much at a disadvantage because incumbency is worth at least 10 points

The Democrats' strategy is clear: Make 2018 and 2020 essentially a referendum on Trump and his supporters.

Sure, that's the chickenshit way to win elections, but if they can run candidates who are at least palatable, it could work.
.

I think Cruz would have beaten Hillary legitimately.

The thing is, the GOP is going to get at least 45% of the vote no matter what. Had Cruz been the candidate, a lot of people who voted for either Johnson or McCollough would have voted for him. He might have even tipped MN and NH into the GOP column.

Part of the problem was Hillary was such an awful candidate, and I say that as someone who voted for her. I wouldn't have voted for Cruz, either. Might have voted for Kasich. Might have voted for Jeb if his name wasn't Bush. Might have voted for Scott Walker.

The other part of the problem is that after 8 years of a given party, people are usually ready for a change, even if things are going well. We saw that with Obama, we saw that with Bush. Dukakis might have won in 1988 if he weren't such a truly awful candidate.

Now that said, the problem with Trump is that he should have been a non-starter. But he wasn't because the GOP was desperate for a win.

They simply have no principles.
There simply is no line they won't cross.
Just remember that they're up against a President who is celebrated by his supporters because there are no lines he's afraid to cross, either.

This is ugly everywhere, and the ends of the spectrum just don't care.
.
That is totally dishonest.
Trump isn't afraid to say what's on his mind.
He says what most of America is thinking.
He's not some packaged Bullshit artist and compulsive liar like Hillary or Obama.

You dicks want to make this about a referendum on Trump's policies, but really this is a referendum on morality.
The rich turning out to be a bunch of pervs and sexual deviants.
You can't even be honest enough to admit that this is a perfect example of the left using the morality of GOP voters against the GOP.
You only claim that your ideology won.
This is why the moment you lying assholes get back in power you show us exactly why you lost power in the first place.
Select members of the GOP are showing us exactly that, when they refuse to do what they are elected to do.
Hillary won the popular vote.

Even Rex tillerson said trump doesn’t speak for the country. Amazing coming from a trump appointee
Hillary didn't win shit....because our presidential election isn't decided by the popular vote.
So you can drop that horseshit.
Hillary couldn't win enough states to carry the election.
I don't care how many fake votes they manufactured in CA.

There's the rub.

That's really not what they're running on.
They can win a state election by paying a few women to lie about their opponent.
We'll see how long that keeps working for them.
I just don't see this working in 16 states.
They're gonna have to run on their policies in most of them.

It won't work if the economy continues to improve and policies become the focus. Plus, the left, has the alt-left to deal with. These young millennials are in no mood for the dinosaurs of old and they will do everything in their power to split the left, and expose "old money".

Trump just needs to stick to his campaign promises. If I were him, I would get the tax bill passed and then first thing in 2018 choose the company design for The Wall and start construction. Bush already had the wall passed so he can use the former legal format. If he can't get funding, he can ask Americans to donate money or even volunteer to work in the construction with some free advertising for the companies that help.

Sounds outrageous, but if he pulls out all shots and plays hardball it will send a message to Establishment, "I am going to do what I promised and remind the American people every day that I am doing it on their behalf".

He won't need to drain the swamp then, it will just leak into 1000 little pathways until it is at a low enough level that you wont even need to put on your rubber boots to walk across it.

God Bless America. Get 'er done Trump!

Just about anyone would have beaten your girl Cankles. Hell...Trump beat her. Is that not proof enough?

2010 and 2014 were referendums on Obama.

2006 and 2008 were referendums on Bush

Now, i have no illusions about Alabama, it was because Moore was a bad candidate to start with, and the allegations made him more toxic.

But that a Democrat can win there for the first time since 1992, that's kind of telling where the GOP is going to be going into 2018 in hundreds of races in states which aren't full of inbreds.

You know establishment Republicans got to be thinking that. The Comrade and Bannon are going to lead the GOP to doom. Bannon is going to Primary the GOP into a minority.
I keep wondering why people who aren't in the Trump administration who were fired or let go somehow are still Trump's people.
Obama kept his criminals in his administration till the end and you folks still refuse to blame Obama for supporting liars and criminals.

I guess when you can't be honest you vote for Democrats.
The greatest tool the left has against the GOP is the honesty of their voters.
Everyone knows this.
Or no one knows this.

Sorry the tide has turned on your agenda and momentum
Not one of you people can be honest enough to admit that a flawed candidate can lose an election, even after yours got her ass kicked in the last one.
This isn't about who wins on the issues.
This is all about how many women you can get to accuse the other guy's candidate.

And none of you snowflakes can admit there is only a handful of people in the U.S. that thinks like you, you're so in tune with this forum and your kind. There are other's out in the world that don't frequent forums that know the truth about the rw, they are no good and always will be.

Joe, whatever you're smoking... stock up on it because I have agreed with (2) of your comments this morning

The GOP was doomed already. That is how Trump destroyed 12 of them in the Primaries

Agreed. Some seem to forget the 2016 turn around so quickly.

The problem with these socialists is they're tough sob's, you have to knock them down and finish the job or they will pop back up again quickly and with deeper pockets. Maybe Trump should suggest DOJ consider investigations where warranted into foreign donations in the American political process. Quickest way to end the socialist threats.

Look, I'm an easy going Canadian and I respect democrats as long as they support the constitution, if I have to choose between a far right or a centralist, in general, I support the centralist, though of course, it's an issue by issue situation. When I hear less and less support from their mouths for the constitution, I get worried. Americas constitution is the envy of the world and those who sacrifice for it keep us all in the West free (except for those like myself who the neo-communists have harmed).

I feel Trump has done a bang on job with the economy, he's doing it as well as anyone outside of Rand Paul would have. He's doing his best to create a laissez-faire environment, and he would have it in place long ago if he were the guy solely responsible for the decision. The economy always has and always will be the greatest factor for Americans, as long as the Republic remains free and defended.

This from a guy who predicted a Hillary landslide.

LMFAO!

I'm guessing these last couple of years have been a fucking nightmare for them, and they can't wake up to end it.

Nothing will change, though. Trump & Co will blame this on the accusations and continue along their merry way, until they're voted out. Then they'll blame that on something else, too.
.
I hope you don't think that Alabama voters didn't take into account the accusations.
This is dirty politics at it's worst.
I refuse to be a part of a political party that has to pull this shit to regain their lost power.
I hope you don't think that Alabama voters didn't take into account the accusations.

Of course they did. The only dirty politics at play was the Republicans foisting Moore on their voters. There's two better questions you should be asking. What makes the allegations against Moore less believable than those against anyone else?
Why did Republicans compromise themselves so badly by backing such a flawed candidate?

It comes down to a battle between the regular Republicans and the batshit crazy wing of the party

Recently, batshit crazy has driven regular Republicans to the sidelines where they just cringe. 2018 will be a battle for control with the Democrats winning

Yes, this time, what about the next time...

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
