California Burning

I hate it for them, but when you will not allow the under brush to be cleared from your forest because you believe in climate change. It's hard to feel sorry for them. Hopefully the will learn their lesson this time.

Nope, they will never learn, vote for their liberal gov again, and the same shit will happen, again, and again, and again. It is like Groundhog day on steroids, but with wildfires instead of snow...Go figure.

It seems PG&E is culpable, once again, as well as The Congress which has decided funding war and not funding domestic needs is their agenda. Your comment is mindful of Groundhog day, echoing the same bullshit which spews from the foul gullet of Trump and his fellow travelers.

For the Record:

"In terms of which entity manages the forests in California, the federal government, manages more land than the state of California. The federal government manages 57 percent of the forests in California, according to the Legislative Analyst's Office. The state manages 2 percent. Private owners are responsible for 39 percent."

How Forests Are Owned, Used, and Managed in California 33 Million Acres of Forestland in California Owned by Combination of Entities. As shown in Figure 2, close to 60 percent (nearly 19 million acres) of forestlands in California are owned by the federal government, including by the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and National Park Service. Private nonindustrial entities own about one-quarter (8 million acres) acres of forestland. These include families, individuals, conservation and natural resource organizations, and Native American tribes. Industrial owners—primarily timber companies— own 14 percent (4.5 million acres) of forestland. State and local governments own a comparatively small share—only 3 percent (1 million acres) combined.

Majority of California's forests managed by feds; scientist says mismanagement isn't to blame

Actually it’s algores fault

Idiot-gram ^^^ classic example of a post which lacks substance, thought and is not thought provoking.

It's very telling to see who is spewing hatred at the fire victims.
a

I've shed tears for people who's names i did not even know at fires

Maybe one has to experience it , dunno

It's not pretty

But the haters , it's any excuse, they just want to hate , how sad is that?

Someday ,somewhere, somehow, they'll get themselves ito something they can't get themselves out of , then let's see how much they hate their fellow man

~S~
You wish to know who the real haters are?

It is those who refuse to take action when it has been pointed out to them for over three decades.

The State has been told to manage their forests and dry lands for AT LEAST that long. Each and every year, they go throughout of control fires because the REFUSE to do so.

I shed tears for these people and all people who suffer from a preventable tragedy like this one. What is so very wrong about defending California and their mismanagement is that preventing this kind of tragedy doesn't even take away anyone else's rights. Its just dead wood that can be cleared away.

See my post #157 and stop being a damn liar.
You're a known liar, and I'll do as I please since you refuse to actually address what I was saying.

California? With all those liberal wealthy environmentalists pushing laws to be more earth friendly...THEY are the ones being burnt out of house and hearth? It is a complicated issue, after all.

How does one convince McConnell and the physical conservatives to fund our infrastructure and not waste money on the implements of war, or spend their time trying to take healthcare from our citizens and kick the can down the road?

The reason the Democrats won the House, is not a result of voter fraud, it's a result of the inept performance of the Republican majority which spent seven years trying and failing to repeal and replace the PPACA, aka, (Obamacare).

The one major bill passed and signed by Trump is a fraud, it does little to benefit we the people, since most of the tax savings (over 60%) goes to global corporations and the standard deduction increase will be less beneficial as the years go by, and local fees and taxes are raised.

First things first. We cull animals when they effect their own environment negatively. There is 7 billion people and that is the major cause of our ills. War to financial collapse to global climate change. Fill in the blank. And if we don't deal with overpopulation, mother nature WILL.

Trees and power lines have an intimate relationship, though it was seriously put in jeopardy during 2018, according to these dubious lines: 'A bill approved last September....The bill mitigates liability for fires in 2017 and others starting in 2019, but made no provision for fires this year.' This could be further evidence that Trump is correct, though why would PG&E be unaware of this mitigation gap? Who would benefit?

It's complicated, but one mustn't dismiss the PG&E board is beholden to investors. Recently an old gas line exploded killing some citizens in San Bruno, CA***, the fires in Napa in 2017 and those burning in the southern and northern California today are likely to fail do to the failure to repair or replace the energy infrastructure (something the Freedom Caucus and leaders McConnell, Ryan and Trump ignore all around our nation and maybe even in your neighborhood).

If you put all 7 billion people together, front to back and shoulder to shoulder, how much area would that fill? I know, but most liberals are totally clueless, because all they can do is listen to people like Mika Brezinski and Morning Joke.

The world is NOT overpopulated. Everyone can fit in Texas. «
The green, liberal, and socialist agenda has many bogus issues which it promotes to further its agenda of anti-freedom goals but their assertion that the world is over populated is one that particularly annoys me. It is simply not true.

Did you know…everyone on the planet (7 billion) could fit in the state of Texas (area of 268,820 square miles) at a density 26,040 people per sq. mile. Thats a 1000 less people per square mile than in New York City!
The dirty little secret is that Liberal Elites dont like to share with the cesspool folks. So when a liberal walks into a planned parenthood and kills their baby, then bitches like Nancy Pelosi can have a bunch of kids and grandkids, while the poor cant.....That is Liberal FAIRNESS..

If you put 7 billion people together shoulder to shoulder, like sardines this would be a sad place to live in. No dogs, no birds, no freedom. Of course that's hypothetical. Hypothetically, bees can't fly, too. Would you want to live in such a world living cheek to jowl to your fellow human? 7 billion people is up there. Why is it neither liberals nor conservatives can wrap their minds around human overpopulation?

I wonder how many of those charred bodies are looters. Looters will go into buildings while they are on fire looking for something to steal.
Looters deserve what they get. No pity, no mercy. But I feel so much sorrow for those who lost their lives trying to survive something so swift and fatal. I hope those who died did so quickly and felt as little pain as possible.
Looters...meh!

What I thought was fog was fucking smoke. Went running and got dizzy so I had to stop and go back in the house.

This is like the Big Smog of London in 1952, only it is lasting longer.

Our Air Quality is now at 256. And it's likely going to get worse.
I hope they fry PG&E and make sure they cant pass the cost onto the customers.

I don't agree that PG&E is to blame. The Feds own over half of the land in the state and have not properly managed it. Years of neglect (i.e., not thinning trees nor removing dead ones, not clearing brush, cancelling crazing rights on public land) combined with Jerry cancelling his father's water project have led to this nightmare. There is so much fuel built up, that something minor can explode into a conflagration.

And then we have the utterly corrupt misallocation of state resources to nonsense like the train to nowhere and obscene pensions for overpaid do nothing public employee union members. What a waste.
Fuel only becomes fuel if you light it. PG&E's faulty equipment may be the blame. However it looks like they are going to get off.

California throws lifeline to PG&E over potential Camp Fire liability

"In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Picker said his agency will soon implement a provision in a new state law that makes it easier for utilities to pass costs for past wildfires to their customers."
PG&E is probably considered "too big to fail". Who else will provide the power required when folks start rebuilding. Might be a prime time for people to explore alternate power sources.

How can we convince our so-called representatives to concentrate on actual citizens of this country instead of encouraging thousands of foreign invaders? Especially useless eaters expecting to be housed, clothed, educated and fed using the same limited funds needed to care for US?

Agreed, but who will take that bull by the horns? Who gets to breed, who gets to determine the criteria for breeders? Isn't a undeniable human right to breed uncontrollably, without regard to what offspring one couple might be able to afford, financially and emotionally?

It isn't only McConnell, Ryan and Trump, brother. Wake up and smell the stench of all our elected "representatives"...Can you honestly tell me that Pelosi, Waters, Brown, et.al. give a flying rat's ass about anything but their own bank accounts?

I am thinking of a Star Trek episode, the mark of Gideon. An entire planet doomed to live in forced confinement with other humans. No freedom, no breath of fresh air no animals, no bio diversity, nothing. But other human beings from horizon to horizon. Sorry, kids but that isn't acceptable.

Californians don't get it. Well, wealthy Liberal ideologues, they don't anyway. Liberalism is like some kind of virus. The place is awash with economic inequities. But rich California liberals fight for people and or issues that are eating them up. And abandons their roots and their strengths.

To your point, all of those people in the Red States, standing back to back. is very much smaller than if all the bears, elk, deer, bison, cow and steers lined up. Odd that so many Trump and Republicans supporter have posted that matter as if it is telling the reader that such a map is significant of anything related to the political popularity in our nation.

I can tell you honestly that some of the members of Congress do care about we the people. I've known and served on committees and attended social events with members of Congress & our board of supervisor representing the county where I live. The topics are mostly about care for people, our environment, public education and infrastructure and means to fix what's broken.

Can you honestly tell and offer evidence that McConnell, Ryan and Trump have an ideology which supports a big tent or puts country first?
