The New Testament says Jesus was a Rabbi and taught Old Testament law.

Jesus said that OT law was perfect and wouldn't change until heaven and earth passed away.

The OT specifically spoke against cross dressing and homosexuality.

That's not the meaning of the verse.

In this specific instance, it's a commentary on the number of people who believe they know how a total stranger's prayers are answered. That's either hubris - as described in the verse - or a claim to clairvoyance, and the Bible has some pretty harsh words to say about clairvoyance, too.
