Fuck israel
Former soldiers have displayed photographs exposing the Israeli army's practices and violations against the Palestinians in a new exhibition in the Swiss city of Zurich. The event has been coordinated by Breaking the Silence, a group of ex-soldiers who are speaking out about the things they were ordered to do by senior officers.

The exhibition, which is open until next Sunday, has outraged Israeli officials. It has been attacked by the Israeli Embassy in Switzerland and pro-Israel community organisations.

The former soldiers spoke to the media and the public about the harassment, humiliation and intimidation carried out against the Palestinians, especially at checkpoints and border crossings, and during daily incursions into towns. Houses are also stormed in dawn raids, they said.

Media adviser Hossam Shaker, an expert in European affairs, stressed the importance of such revelations coming from the perpetrators of the violations instead of their victims. "This has a huge influence on the European public," he said. "These are basically public confessions that are authenticated by pictures and certificates to confirm the facts about the Israeli army's practices against Palestinian civilians." Israeli propaganda faces a "double dilemma" when faced with such disclosures, he added.

According to Shaker, the Israeli campaign against the exhibition concentrated on the financial support provided by Zurich Municipality, something the city does for other cultural and media events. "Because the organisers of the event are Israeli Jews, the charge of 'anti-Semitism' is missing, to be replaced by accusations of being 'anti-Israel'; this is part of the verbal gymnastics of Israeli propaganda.

"Breaking the Silence holds exhibition in Zurich

The Israeli ambassador in Bern, Yigal Caspi, has personally led a campaign against the exhibition, using his connections with the Swiss Foreign Ministry to put pressure on the government. Hossam Shaker explained that this had the opposite effect to that which was intended. "It raised public awareness about the exhibition and exposed the Israeli government's fear of the facts being disclosed."

In this unique exhibition you'll be exposed to the 65 soldiers (out of 25,000) that participated in 'Protective Edge' as they claim.
Total participates: 1

Anyone here is interested in a small debate if this is real "testimonies" we're talking about or not? I'm pretty positive these are fake.

JERUSALEM (AP) — An organization of former Israeli soldiers dedicated to shedding light on the dark side of the country's military is coming increasingly under fire, roiling a country in the grips of a battle against the burgeoning threat of international isolation and boycotts.

Since its founding in 2004, Breaking the Silence has collected the testimonies of more than 1,000 veterans in a bid to expose the underbelly of the decades-old occupation of the West Bank. It has taken those accounts to audiences in Israel and around the world, including a recent 10-day photo exhibit in Zurich, Switzerland.

I trust your opinion of this issue, Daniyel, since you actually served in the IDF.

That's the point, you don't have to trust me since this information is available for everyone and small research would clarify that.
I'm simply more informed about those small details that makes all the difference, you couldn't be aware of them because biased sources wouldn't like to tell you that.

I would like to hear about the Palestinians Breaking Silence on the activities they use to provoke and generate the continued efforts to present a threat to Israel.

  • If the Israelis withdrew from the West Bank, would they continue to promote Jihad and armed aggressive action against Israel?

Most Respectfully,

Ten of the worlds top generals say Israel committed no war crimes. They surely outweigh the motley Hamas terrorists who do all the pissing and moaning with all their BS claims.

Israel at the weekend published the findings of 10 of the world’s top generals who concluded that, contrary to widespread allegations, the Jewish state had not committed war crimes during last summer’s Gaza war.

The delegation, headed by Chairman of the NATO Military Committee General Klaus Naumann (pictured), said in a statement that its “mission to Israel was unprecedented. We were the first such multi-national group of senior officers to visit the country. We were granted a level of access to the Israeli government and Defense Force that has not been afforded to any other group…”

After vigorously investigating the Israeli army’s conduct during the war, the group found that “Israeli forces acted proportionately as required by the laws of armed conflict and often went beyond the required legal principles of proportionality, necessity and discrimination.”

Why are journalists surprised that Israel kills children?
There was nothing surprising about Israel finding itself not culpable for the killing of four boys on a Gaza beach in July last year, as it did in a military judgment released a few days ago.

Israel’s investigations into its own crimes aren’t known for delivering guilty verdicts.

What was interesting, however, was the reaction of some mainstream journalists — journalists who felt they had a vested interest in this case because they had witnessed the strikes which killed the four boys from the Baker family as they played football one afternoon during Israel’s 51-day assault on Gaza.

Articles by Peter Beaumont in The Guardian and Robert Tait in The Daily Telegraph give off a sense of disbelief and indignation that the investigation by the Israeli army into the attack cleared all personnel involved and declared the incident “a tragic accident.”

Both these journalists, and Paul Mason in his blog for Channel 4 News, describe how their own observations, both during and after the attack, refute Israel’s allegations that it was targeting Palestinian fighters.

But the sense that there has been a miscarriage of justice by a reputable organization, rather than an outright cover-up by a rogue army, remains.

Struck in error?
This journalistic respect for Israel’s army is highlighted in Tait’s article, as he writes that the slaughter of the boys was “surely an indication that something had gone badly wrong in Israel’s military procedures for such a deadly strike to have been aimed at what were clearly children.”

E.I.? Why don't you scour the Iranian sites for their analysis? Oh, you did? Carry on.

The report describes taking the testimonies of large numbers of officers and soldiers involved in the planning and execution of the strike. Unsuccessful efforts were made to "co-ordinate " testimonies from Gaza witnesses, the report said.

"Regretfully, despite the prior coordination, the witnesses eventually declined to meet the investigators, and instead provided affidavits," it added.

However, journalists who reported seeing the incident - at least one of them British - said that no attempt was made to interview them, although they brought it to the military advocate general's attention that they had witness testimony.

In summary, the report said the strike was consistent with "Israeli domestic law and international law requirements", adding that it was "aimed at figures who were understood to be militants from Hamas's Naval Forces, who had gathered in order to prepare to carry out military activities". The investigation concluded that the Israeli personnel involved had not realised they were targeting children.
