Driving with a COP in back seat can be dangerous to your health.
Drag the curser thing up to 24 minute mark as it is a long video.
Where else could you shoot the perp if you have the gun in the back seat of a moving car?
Maybe in the dome? That was a large 17 yr. old?

VIDEO near the ending

Full video below

U.S. Park Police in Washington, D.C., have released a video showing an incident last month in which an officer shot and killed a 17-year-old black male.

The March 18 incident that led to the death of Dalaneo Martin began when police responded to a call of a vehicle that was running.

“Upon arrival, an officer located a vehicle that was occupied and running. The officer observed the occupant of the vehicle was asleep and the ignition was punched. The officer determined the vehicle was stolen and then called for additional units over the radio. Additional MPD officers and two U.S. Park Police officers arrived on scene to assist,” according to a Metropolitan Police Department statement.

The video released by the park police showed bodycam footage of Metropolitan police and Park police discussing how best to remove Martin from the vehicle.

He fucked around and found out

It's possible that the shooting was an accident and the D.C. Park Police are as under trained as the Capital Police. Strangely enough nobody seemed outraged when a Capital Cop who had a record of careless handling of a firearm intentionally shot and killed Jan 6 trespasser Ashley Babbitt who posed no threat.

You mean he shot him after the criminal was attempting to evade law enforcement that attempted to arrest him....
No, there is absolutely no way he could have known it was the police, since the officer shouted "Police" immediately upon entering the car, before Martin could have awakened (27:05 in the video). You got some unknown man in your back seat that you can't see grabbing at you. Anyone would have panicked and tried to escape.

It was too chaotic for him to notice any police cars behind him. The officer didn't identify himself except that once before Martin was awake, and the officer shot him only 23 seconds after making contact, not giving Martin a chance to figure out what was happening. In other words, he never had a chance.

If someone in my back seat has a gun on me and I dont know if it’s the police, that is all the more reason to comply. The unpredictability of the assailant.
How people defend this is insane.

DC has a lot of Cops (for one stolen car). Might have cost $500K for those hours? Plus house damages? For one idiot passed out in a stolen car? Such a waste of resources paid by Taxpayers.

They probably could not ID the perp or his rap sheet to date. What options?

Stand around hoping it ran out of gas? Takes Too long?

Get a junker car parked right in front? Then shoot out tires waking up the thief? If he tries to backup that was covered? But more damage. If he pulls gun, drill him?
