A growing number of Black Americans see the struggle of Palestinians reflected in their own struggles for racial equality and civil rights.

Cydney Wallace, a Black Jewish community activist, never felt compelled to travel to Israel, though “Next year in Jerusalem” was a constant refrain at her Chicago synagogue.

The 39-year-old said she had plenty to focus on at home, where she frequently gives talks on addressing anti-Black sentiment in the American Jewish community and dismantling white supremacy in the U.S.

“I know what I’m fighting for here,” she said.

That all changed when she visited Israel and the West Bank at the invitation of a Palestinian American community organizer from Chicago’s south side, along with two dozen other Black Americans and Muslim, Jewish and Christian faith leaders.

The trip, which began Sept. 26, enhanced Wallace’s understanding of the struggles of Palestinians living in the West Bank under Israeli military occupation. But, horrifyingly, it was cut short by the unprecedented Oct. 7 attacks on Israel by Hamas militants. In Israel’s ensuing bombardment of the Gaza Strip, shocking images of destruction and death seen around the world have mobilized activists in the U.S. and elsewhere.

Wallace, and a growing number of Black Americans, see the Palestinian struggle in the West Bank and Gaza reflected in their own fight for racial equality and civil rights. The recent rise of protest movements against police brutality in the U.S., where structural racism plagues nearly every facet of life, has connected Black and Palestinian activists under a common cause.

It seems very logical to me that Black American solidarity with Palestinians is rising! What do you think?

Indigenous Solidarity with Palestine

We encourage Indigenous peoples worldwide to uplift additional demands from Palestinian organizers, to commit to the Palestinian call to Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) Israel and all institutions complicit in Israeli apartheid and settler colonialism, to issue solidarity statements and mutual aid for Palestine and organize mutual aid for Gaza, to demand freedom for political prisoners, and to support Land Back and the right of return for Palestinians.

Stop the genocide. End the siege. End the occupation. Dismantle apartheid. Decolonize Palestine.

Native American solidarity with Palestinians also seems to be rising - which seems very logical and natural. What do you think?

Do you think the symbiotic relationship between the U.S. and Israel also has residents of both countries that too share a symbiotic relationship, forged thru discrimination and subjugation?

It is natural that black hatred of whites should find kinship in Palestine hatred of Jews. Blacks are just too cowardly to execute an Oct 7 type attack.
Nice one .
Puts you right back near the top of the leaderboard along with Pasta Jelly , Rowdy , Fat Ann and Saysthearse .
Top Racists and purveyors of insane prejudice and filth .

Come on . You can beat Rowdy . He is as thick as two short planks .

Nothing new here.

The "alliance" was always one way.

The American Jewish Community is finally coming to terms with that reality

Negroes were given racial equality and civil rights during the 1960's.

Blacks have higher poverty rates than whites because they have lower average IQ's. They have higher incarceration rates because they are more likely to be criminals.

Palestinians also have low IQ averages. That is why during their two thousand year existence the world of the mind heard nothing from them.

The achievements of the Jews are many and impressive.

It's always been an alliance fraught with difficulty, but Israel has jumped the moral shark with its genocidal attacks on Palestinian children.

The folk just aren't down with that.

Jews were never the friends of the Blacks. Jews used Blacks when it benefited them just like Whites and Asian have done when it was profitable to do.

Just wait until all these Hispanics that Potatohead has allowed to flood in start taking away the Black's welfare. The Blacks will find out they have no friends except maybe a few really pathetic and weak White Guilt pukes.

In extreme cases, there can be little doubt of the superiority of one race to another. North America, Australia, and New Zealand certainly contribute more to the civilization of the world than they would do if they were still peopled by aborigines. It seems on the whole fair to regard negroes as on the average inferior to white men, although for work in the tropics they are indispensable, so that their extermination (apart from questions of humanity) would be highly undesirable.

But when it comes to discriminating among the races of Europe, a mass of bad science has to be brought in to support political prejudice. Nor do I see any valid ground for regarding the yellow races as in any degree inferior to our noble selves. In all such cases, racial eugenics is merely an excuse for Chauvinism.

Wow, Matt Quigley sure wouldn't agree with you.....

Bullshit!

FYI: For those who don't know, this is the symbol for WHITE POWER! Two words: FUCK THAT! Who agrees?
