Michele Bachmann Endorses Mitt Romney After Saying He Couldn't Win

Oh, politics truly is weird and creepy.

It's that time in the election cycle when prominent politicians rally around the presumptive presidential candidate -- and practice collective amnesia about their previous criticisms, no matter how damning.

With failed political candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) endorsing Mitt Romney on Thursday, it's worth taking a look back at her harshest attacks against the former Massachusetts governor.

Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

He can't win.

In response to a question in December by ABC's Jonathan Karl, Bachmann said unequivocally that Romney could not win in a general election against President Obama. "No, he cannot beat Obama because his policy is the basis for Obamacare," she said. "The signature issue of Obama is Obamacare. You can't have a candidate who has given the blueprint for Obamacare. It's too identical. It's not going to happen."

He's not sufficiently anti-abortion.

During a December appearance on CBS's Early Show, Bachmann hit Romney for "significant flaws" in his pro-life record. "Romney and Gingrich, both of them have significant flaws that don’t represent what the people of Iowa are looking for, particularly on the life issue," she said. "Mitt Romney has been on the side of abortion [and] same-sex marriage."

He's a socialist.

While addressing the Family Research Council in November, Bachmann claimed Romney has socialist leanings. "Unfortunately for too many Republicans, they also aspire to be frugal socialists," she said. "The reason President Obama and some Republicans can get behind socialized medicine is because they share the same core political philosophy about the purpose of government."

"We cannot preserve liberty if the choice is between a frugal socialist and an out-of-control socialist."

He's a 'chameleon.'

In December, Bachmann hit Romney as being "very inconsistent" at a campaign stop in Florida. "My position here is to bring clarity. It's not to be negative but to bring clarity. That's what the voters are looking for. They're not interested in a chameleon."

He's a crony capitalist.

On MSNBC's "Morning Joe" in December, Bachmann described Romney as a "consummate insider." She called former presidential candidate Newt Gingrich "the poster child for crony capitalism," and said that Romney was "cut out of the same cloth."

This is a good one:

It's too identical.

She's unhinged. I hope she moves to Iowa.

She may not be able to fund her way out of the box she lives in:

"We cannot preserve liberty if the choice is between a frugal socialist and an out-of-control socialist."

Politics, bedfellows, you get the idea...

Hard to find any stranger than Bachmann:

"Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas."

Oh come on. Does anyone remember all the nasty things Hillary said about Obama?

And she backed him for the election and now serves under him.

It's politics. It's closing ranks. No big smurf.

No, she's the mad hatter.

Another Bachmann gem:

''(Gay marriage) is probably the biggest issue that will impact our state and our nation in the last, at least, thirty years.................................

Can you get me a direct link to that quote in context please? Oh and by the way it is not listed as harmful.

CO2 is an asphyxiant gas and not classified as toxic or harmful in accordance with Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals standards of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe by using the OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals.

Right out of wiki.

.

Bachman must need some campaign debts paid off.

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann owes more than $1 million from her unsuccessful bid to become the Republican presidential nominee.

Everybody is going to kneel down and earn their favor. Politics is a messy game... full of slimy snakes. All of the candidates are going to get behind Romney eventually.

You may have missed a few parts:

A brief review of the scientific literature produces a number of studies in which it turns out that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas. For instance, an 1995 research article by Hugh Gloster and Randall Roenigk in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (32.3:436-441) suggests that when carbon dioxide lasers are used to treat human papilomilla virus warts, the resulting fumes can infect surgeons with HPV inside their noses. A more tragic hazard is documented in a 2003 paper by Beaubien, Ciotoli et al in the Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research (123.1-2: 63-80): the sudden release of massive amounts of carbon dioxide in geologically active areas. The eruption of carbon dioxide from Lake Nyos in Cameroon in 1986 killed nearly two thousand people. That’s pretty hazardous.

Here is more Bachmann for you:

There have been similar eruptions like Nyos with massive amounts of carbon dioxide released.

I believe Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton were very critical of candidate Obama in 08 one is now his Vice President the other his Secretary of State so I'm not really sure what the point of this thread is.

Carbon monoxide is deadly. CO2 is not. Without CO2, we wouldn't exist.

Photosynthesis: 6 CO2 + 6 H2O --> C6H12O6 + 6 O2

Cellular respiration: C6H12O6 + 6 O2 --> 6 CO2 + 6 H2O

CO2 is used in soft drinks, beer, yeasts, and baking powder.

Bachmann is not someone many could accept as VP; more on limnic eruptions and DEATHS:

The last I knew no one had asked her to run as VP has that changed? If not I still don't see the point.
