Asking the Brits to label the US states

I know the location of every single U.S. state, province/territory in Canada and county in Britain. We were taught using jigsaw puzzles in geography to help us remember.

It's just as well you are asking the Brits to label the US .......

I wonder what would happen if the shoe is on the other foot? mmmmm?

Did you read the first line of the first post.

I shall quote myself.

To be fair, I couldn't do shit with England itself, never mind GB.

what do you mean "I couldn't do shit with England itself ???

can't understand that :)

And Europe? No. It's been too long.

Just now, what was labeled Middleshire? I had to go look up, because I didn't remember it was Nebraska. There was a time I knew them all, states and capitols as well. That was a very long-ass time ago.

If somebody presented me with a map of England, I think I could find the White Cliffs of Dover.

I think.

And that's about it.

I think I could label most of the Western European countries but would need to bone up on some in the east because the names have changed so rapidly over the last 30 years. Likewise I could label most of the Middle East and eastern Africa, but it would get iffy trying to do the western half of Africa without some pre study. And Asia--the major countries without problem but some of the smaller ones--I would flunk. :(

The British Isles, no problem. But placing major cities in them, could be.

I notice ALL the Brits know where New Mexico is though. I suppose because we have Roswell. And the Manhattan Project. :)

I want to do that, though. Re-learn states, countries, etc. Whatever I don't currently remember. I am sure it would be a good brain exercise.

I'd be lucky to get more than 10 states correctly labeled, and I'm a natural born citizen. :) I know the names of all the states, but where they all reside within the country? Nope.

I haven't a clue what kind of divisions exist within the UK.

I might be able to correctly label a couple of European countries.

I feel no shame about my ignorance, either. It's not as though I've had reason to study the positions of our states for any reason.
