Great question.

In my total experience over 6 decades, the men are the bait and the women are the predators.

An aggressive male may think he is a predator but that is naïve.

Married women whose hubbies have lose interest in them are the worst predators of all in this respect.

This does not necessarily reflect college frat boyz and sorority girlz. They mostly just want to have sex however. They have an itch they want to scratch. The boyz are too immature to settle down and support a wife and kids, and the girlz are to liberated to give up their career chances for marriage.

And some sorority girlz are fokking for food and/or booze.
