And when only the police have guns....and decide the cartels pay better..they kill innocent people..

Wow...you insist on being a stupid fuck.....

The FBI numbers are seen as more accurate even with the discrepancies in all attempts to gather stats...and they report 8,454 gun murders...total....in 2013.....go bitch to them about their numbers.....

so then do you accept their figures that only 201 guns are used in self-defense homicides, or are you j ust cherry picking.

Now if you could only find an FBI state that tell you your concave pecker is normal, Tiny.

Sure...201 if that is what they say are the number of criminals killed...it shows that with 1.6 million times Americnas use guns to stop or prevent violent criminal attack and save live....they only were pushed to kill 201.....it would be nice if you linked to your sources........

so Americans who obey the law do not kill unless they absolutely have to...unlike you they do not fantasize about murdering minorities.......

Gun murders 2013...8,454...FBI table 8

......

Don't we want criminals choosing more often not to have a gun? There they choose very infrequently to be armed, that sounds pretty nice. More armed citizens just means more armed criminals.
When you are able to get criminals to make choices based on your opinion, please let me know. The criminal mind works independently of civilized society...including its laws, ethics and sense of acceptable community behavior.

Hey taguy says in countries with fewer guns criminals choose to not use guns. That sounds good to me.

no, not quite what I say.....they have less fun crime because their criminals decide not to use guns......but have as much access to guns as they want....France proves that...as does Puerto Rico, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Britain and Australia...

I don't waste links on gun nuts anymore. the best argument for gun control is to let the gun nuts talk

The problem with DGU's is that you have figures that fluctuate from 56,000 (the FBI) to 2.5 million (Kleck). When you have that much of a discrepency in a number, it becomes questionable at best.

There are 40 years of studies that show you are wrong......of course you won't link.....it reveals how stupid your sources are.....

They choose other weapons. So taking guns away from the honest people will make them more vulnerable to criminal assault and murder.

Except they really don't.

Let's take the closest analog possible, Canada.

Canada had 529 murders in 2011. Of those, 169 were committed with guns.

It was a murder rate of 1.36 per 100,000 people. And Canada doesn't have strict gun laws like the UK or Japan. They have 30 guns to every 100 people, but the gun laws are pretty restrictive. There's no right to own a gun, you have to qualify to have one.

Now compare that to the US.

Guns in Canada Firearms gun law and gun control

The US had 11,101 gun murders in 2011. It had a total of 15,953 murders. A murder rate of 5.1 per 100,000 people.

There are 40 years of studies of bullshit, mostly sponsored by the NRA.

Just like there were a shitload of studies that proved Smoking was healthy the Tobacco industry paid for.

so...the NRA paid for a study by Bill clinton's Dept. Of Justice study that found that guns were used 1.5 million times a year to stop or prevent violent crime and save lives?

Or obama's CDC......?

Again...if Canada criminals wanted guns they could easily get them...in fact...gangs smuggle guns into Canada by boat...and can't be stopped....you can drive guns across the border....but they don't use them as much....

we have an inner city gang and criminal problem that they don't have.....

Here is FBI table 8. Up to 2010... All gun murders...

FBI Expanded Homicide Data Table 8

The number is well below 11,000 and again...2013... 8,454...gun murders...

Uh, government gun studies have been banned since Kellerman found out guns in the home are 43 times more likely to kill household members than crooks.

All these studies are papers that cite the batshit crazy shit like Kleck.

Gun violence research NRA and Congress blocked gun-control studies at CDC.

In the 1990s, politicians backed by the NRA attacked researchers for publishing data on firearm research. For good measure, they also went after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for funding the research. According to the NRA, such science is not “legitimate.” To make sure federal agencies got the message, Rep. Jay Dickey (R-Ark.) sponsored an amendment that stripped $2.6 million from the CDC’s budget, the exact amount it had spent on firearms research the previous year.

Sorry...the research never stopped...in fact it increased....and Kellerman lied......has been shown over and over again...gang members are counted in his study as people who know each other....and if a cab driver is killed...that too was counted because they "knew" their attacker....

The 40 years of studies confirms what he is saying. They all vary greatly. They all aren't right.

guns aren't a disease...they are outside their skill set....

Guy, you keep pretending that Kellerman wasn't right on the money, but the fact is, he only studied HOUSEHOLDS with guns, not street crime.

And the NRA didn't offer an alternative study. They just got the government to ban gun studies.
