And so it begins - democrat decline

Never underestimate the Republican party's ability to shoot themselves in the foot just as they about to win the race. Based on the fact that half of the idiots voted FOR the unconstitutional 90% bonus tax, I'm not sure they learned any lessons yet.

You stated my worst nightmare. However, the Dems nearly always out do the Rep in foot shooting. Now where is a third party that runs normal people?

What was it Yogi Berra used to say deja vu all over again. The republicans failed at governance, since Reagan they have failed the American people miserably. They made us a debtor nation and spent like they were the sub prime queen, to use a Reagan slogan. When they lost to Clinton they spent eight years and 40 million looking under the sheets. And guess what they found. And then who do they select to lead but the buffoon who just left the country a mess after coming into office in the best of circumstances. So once again all they can do is bitch and moan like children. Normal operation for republicans, time everyone saw that.

Only a liberal would characterize the Clinton Recession and the 9/11 attacks on our country as "the best of circumstances".

The exploding budget deficit under Obama could prove yet another nail in his re-election bid coffin.
Even some DC Democrats are whispering that perhaps this untested former community organizer is simply not up to the job...

"Mr. Obama’s budget predicted total deficits for the next decade of nearly $7 trillion :)confused:). The Congressional Budget Office analysis of his plan put the figure at nearly $9.3 trillion :)eek:), or a third higher."

Those numbers are creating a big lump in the throat of most Americans.

No question about it. The Republican Party brought us to this point. I seriously doubt they'll provide any viable solutions. Since partisan hacks abound, the best we can hope for is a stand-off between the two major parties. Unfortunately, the left-wing arm of the Democrat Party has America by the throat now and there's nothing we can do about it.

Bush entered the White House after the longest sustained economic boom in American History. A normal downturn was in progress. A slowdown, not a debacle that we are seeing today.

He had a balanced budget when he entered, which he threw away with tax breaks for the very wealthy.

Bush was warned by Clinton and Clark when he entered the White House that terrorism would be a major problem in the his term. He was specifically warned concerning Bin Laden. Yet the people in his administration commented on "Clinton's fixation on Bin Laden". And, in spite of over 50 warning concerning something big going down in the fall of 2001, some rather specific as to commercial aircraft and targets, Bush did nothing but go on vacation. And 3000 Americans lost their lives on American soil. And now, over seven years later, Bin Laden is still alive and free.

Then the Bush administration lied to facilitate and invasion of Iraq. And totally FUBARed the occupation of that nation. And neglected Afghanistan in the meantime. So now we are fighting the Taliban again.

Compared to the situation that Bush left Obama, Bush entered office in the very best of situations. And totally screwed them up.

I love it when Cons just fail to remember that 9/11 happened on a Republican watch. But, of course, you still blame Clinton. Was Katrina Clinton's fault too?

Yes - why are certain liberals so locked into this global warming thing? Is it out of a need for self-importance...the idea that they as human beings can have some impact on something so enormously complex as the earth's climate?

It is a fascinating spectacle to watch...
