You are misinformed. Republicans are calling on Joe Biden to send in the national guard but that has not happened and it is the other side who wants it.

The US has treaty obligations to Israel, and ill considered as they may be they are legal obligations and must be followed. There is only so much the Biden administration can do. Then there's the fact that Hamas really did start this, possibly with just this situation in mind, and while Israel is far into overkill in the response it is still a response and not an unprovoked attack.

Joe Biden has, as usual, performed better than anyone could have hoped in an untenable situation not of his own making.
