First off, i'd like to say i'm glad i'm approaching middle age, i would hate to be 18 years old and starting to look for work in this big unconstitutional dump that people still call "America".
Back in my day, an employer placed an ad in the paper saying they are looking for employees, i would show up to an interview and start work next week. I think i was about 30 years old the first time i didn't hear back from a company that i applied for.
I would work at a company for a little over 2 years, then i'd quit because i had something else going. Yes i should have earned more money , but these employers thanked me for showing up to work every day.

Problem 1) Jobs export.
Our country has been relentlessly sending jobs to China and other countries, why? because the Socialists in our country want to award cruel Communist countries with our prosperity and at the same time, punish our moral country.
It took years, but we are now paying heavily for our 'don't worry about it' attitude.
There is no politician , even Republican , that ever says anything serious about preserving jobs here, they just give it a quick mention when running for office.

Problem 2) This is the most racist time in our history.
The Socialists in America thought of another great way to destroy the country by illegally allowing citizens of other countries to breech our borders and fill jobs that were waiting for them.
Half of the employers hate America, even though this country made them rich, and the other half ...they knew would devour each other for a few extra bucks. The few business owners that hold out can be destroyed by the IRS or other tactics.
If these people are so anti-racist, then why is it still legal to put a race question on an application? Because, it's much easier to discriminate against people when you have that info.
Now that there are so many Hispanics in my area, they discriminate against American simply by placing "must speak Spanish" in the job description.
In my opinion this is one SICK relationship. you have the Caucasian business leaders who go to work every day and treat their crew, who they expect to be 100% Hispanic, like a kindergarten class.
When i was at SEARS i got to watch unskilled foreigners earn top dollar, then complain they would be earning more if everyone wasn't racist against them.
DON'T BE FOOLED, there are no winners. by the time the foreigner with the free job has a kid, there will be no perks for that kid, and they rarly get paid as much as Americans used to.

Problem 3) Right To Work , At Will (California) , and other legal changes to employment.
Yes i realize that some of these laws have been around since the 50's, i can't pinpoint the exact time these problems started.
The Socialists went to Americans and said they were going to pass laws so you couldn't be fired because of race, gender, pregnant, or ECT.
What these people did was allow employers to fire you for any reason they felt like.
For those of you who think this is some kind of Democrat vs. Republican issue, i will point out that, i believe, Eisenhower passed Right to Work and if you look up "At Will" in California, it's the same freaking thing.
These people made it so it's difficult to sue an employer for reasons other than "racial discrimination", and most of THOSE cases are frivoulous.
To make matters even worse, many companies use this power to hire a new employee every 3 months to avoid other fees.
Statistics say the average job length accross the country is 2 years.

Problem 4) UnConstitutional Health Care Bill.
Now that the government has illegally passed the Health Care Bill, we are already getting reports many jobs are being dropped to part-time, and some employers are trying to make it with less employees, all in the name of avoiding health care penalties.
We still don't know how bad this will get.

Problem 5) Defunding Management.
It takes a certain amount of money to properly run a company.
These big corporations go to the regional manager and tell them they are slashing their budget by 10% and let the manager take the blame for the customer complaints and other blowback.
Then the company fires the manager after 2 to 4 years, and starts all over in a new fail cycle.
Companies hire "experts" to trim waste , and the only place they find it is in employee's paychecks.

Problem 6) Criminal Record Hysteria
Our government puts on these "war against drugs" and other shams, to make it look like they do something about problems.
The fact is , out government is directly responsible for most of the crime that exists in our country.
People who run companies are so pissed off at crime, they are allowing and abiding by Big Brother, Antichrist measures, and falsely assume this is helping something.
Our government has been giving employers misleading information about criminal records.
EXAMPLE: You plead guilty to a crime and take a few days community service, the government tells an employer that you pled guilty to the original serious crime.
I've been seeing employment ads that demand applicants have a 100% clean criminal history, "no misdemeanors".
Here's people who run a business, that rips people off on a daily basis, and they're going to have some false moral judgement against you because you got picked up by the police one day in your life.
Employers don't care how minor your crime was or how long ago it was. one little blemish on your record, "go die".
It's not the job of employers to hand out sentences for crimes, that's the job of our government.
It is highly unChristian for our society to not let people leave crime and find work.

EXAMPLE )
I read about a guy who was one of Bonnie and Clyde's gang members.
He was arrested and went to prison. He was released and he eventually found a job working security at a school.
He spent the rest of his career telling young people to stay away from crime.
THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL any felon would be able to get a security job at a school these days.
Our society would tell him to go starve in the park. Then they'd wonder why crime in the park went up.

Problem 7) Driving Record Hysteria
Now days if you get a Driving Under Influence, you might as well be a felon.
What's even scarier now is, we have insurance companies dictating to employers who they can and can't hire, or else they have to pay more money.
The fact is, a person who gets a DUI on a weekend is not necessarily a "drunk", and if an employer told an applicant "i'm not hiring you because the record shows you're a drunk" , the applicant would be able to sue for defamation of character, but our system is set up so the employer says nothing. (see Problem 3)
In a perfect society, an employer would have to give a written letter of rejection, so an applicant could take legal action if it's not related to qualifications. (not going to happen anytime soon).

EXAMPLE )
I've never been in a car accident while driving.
I recently got my 10-year DMV print out showing my driving history.
My "10-year history" shows a point on my record from 13 years ago, why does a 10-year history show that?
I got 3 tickets in 2 months for going 1 mile over the speed limit, i went to court and told them to shove it.
I also have a current point that is about to expire because i got caught in a speed trap. The police were taking people's cars. The only reason why mine wasn't taken was because i was a company car.
The moral is, the only reason why i have any flaws on my record is because of government corruption. My insurance company agrees, I only pay about $430 PER YEAR for car insurance.
Employers are going too crazy with records

Problem 8) Searching credit background.
In my mind this is completely ridiculous.
There are a million reasons why people have bad credit these days, and to say these people are going to steal is slander.
Companies came up with this idea to punish people having a bad credit score.
I've known people who had bad credit scores and got hired at banks, so i know they're not really worried about it.
The average person will be drowning in debt just from education and trade schools. Schools that offer people big jobs then never deliver.

Problem 9) Government permits.
The government is ripping off the public by forcing every profession to get a work permit from the government.
It's another unlawful tax.

EXAMPLE ) He has a permit to drive a truck that he pays $120 per year for.
He can't get a different job unless he buys a different permit.
He can't get that particular truck driving job, because that truck has reclining seats and he needs a "reclining seats endorsement".

Problem 10) Data Collecting.
I've applied for jobs where it seems the employer just wants to collect data on what everyone else is paying.
You waste your time driving down there just for BS.

Problem 11) Forcing people to pay for their own records.
I worked for one company that made me pay for my own background check.
In Nevada i worked for one company that made me pay for my own drug test.
Completely disgusting.
The government just tells these companies, "you're not really supposed to do that".
It will happen a lot more in the future.

Problem 12) Manager incompetence.
Standard hiring questions are designed to make applicants look stupid no matter how they answer.
"Why do you want to be an associate on our team?"
One of the biggest problems with good people not getting good jobs is because managers think they are experts in character judgement, which they never seem to be.
They end up hiring again 3 months later.

Problem 13) Unrealistic expectations.
Another massive problem emerging today is expecting the employee to work like it's their own company.
The CEO sits on a beach somewhere and the average employee has to make custoemrs out of their friends and family or else they won't meet their quota to keep their job.
EXAMPLE)
A woman who works in a casino has to sign up 2 people per day to the gambling club or else she would probably lose her job.
This is another tactic companies use to hire and fire who they want, because few people can't meet the quotas.

My Conclusion )
With all the BS going on to hire employees and with all the record keeping, I think the average person in the future will be unemployable by the time they are 30 years old.
the only people who will qualify will be foreigners who just got off the boat and have no work history here.
...and i don't think any of this is an accident.

Socialism has nothing to do with exporting jobs. And immigration is one of the strong points of this country. Unless you are an American Indian..you are the product of immigration.

What the hell? lol........ Do you even know what the word Socialist means? your post is to long and to wrong on so many points.

Sounds to me like you have made some bad choices in your life and you want to blame everyone else except yourself.

You need to hook up with Joe.

First off, i'd like to say i'm glad i'm approaching middle age, i would hate to be 18 years old and starting to look for work in this big unconstitutional dump that people still call "America".

So, what country did you move to when you left America for good?

Now that there are so many Hispanics in my area, they discriminate against American simply by placing "must speak Spanish" in the job description.

Again, did you even consider ANY aspect of what you were saying when you wrote this?

I hope you were drunk or high or something when you started this thread, because otherwise...

:cuckoo:

I still cant believe you posted this, 1st you complain about "Socialist" sending jobs overseas then complain about companys working you to hard. to funny you cant see how they are correlated.

13) Unrealistic expectations. Another massive problem emerging today is expecting the employee to work like it's their own company.

Too many bullshit points to refute

I will take a pass

at least when trying to compose and sell a false narrative, try to make it believable...

Wolfstrike?

You clearly do NOT know what "right to work laws " are all about.

I mean you got it SO WRONG, dude, so very very wrong.

Do some reading, lad.

Educate yourself.

You know, I have to admit, I've never smoked marijuana. I've never done any illegal drugs in my life. I smoked cigarettes and I've thrown back some alcohol (Jack mostly) in my time, but that's it. When the Mrs. was alive, she decided one day that I wouldn't do either anymore. You did not argue with the Mrs. and that was 30 years ago.

Is this what it is like when you smoke a blunt and try to compose a treatise on something? Just asking because I read it and was actually rooting for him... but I couldn't stay with him.

I enjoyed your points, they were something to think about. Just as a warning, when I first read them, it looked as though a lot of thought and effort when into them, so I copied and pasted your material into Google to make sure it was original stuff. I'm impressed, it is nice work.

I can't say I agree with it all. In fact, a lot of it seems like whining, but at least you did a put a lot of thought and effort behind it. Perhaps you should go to school at an Annenberg affiliated school of journalism, they love liberal writers that shift blame, either to corporate or governmental entities. They could use a new gate keeper. After all, Amy Goodman is getting up there in years.

Perhaps an alternative point of view? This is one of the mostly widely read pieces of texts in all history, perhaps you have read it? It is one of my favorites, I think it will always hold true. I have a friend that is in his forties. He is done with the official Job Market. Why? Because of the government, taxes, and all that other bullshit. Fine, you don't like jobs? Go into business for yourself and quite complaining. (I will highlight the part that applies to you.)

A Message to Garcia
By Elbert Hubbard

In all this Cuban business there is one man stands out on the horizon of my memory like Mars at perihelion. When war broke out between Spain & the United States, it was very necessary to communicate quickly with the leader of the Insurgents. Garcia was somewhere in the mountain vastness of Cuba- no one knew where. No mail nor telegraph message could reach him. The President must secure his cooperation, and quickly.

What to do!

Some one said to the President, "There’s a fellow by the name of Rowan will find Garcia for you, if anybody can."

Rowan was sent for and given a letter to be delivered to Garcia. How "the fellow by the name of Rowan" took the letter, sealed it up in an oil-skin pouch, strapped it over his heart, in four days landed by night off the coast of Cuba from an open boat, disappeared into the jungle, & in three weeks came out on the other side of the Island, having traversed a hostile country on foot, and delivered his letter to Garcia, are things I have no special desire now to tell in detail.

The point I wish to make is this: McKinley gave Rowan a letter to be delivered to Garcia; Rowan took the letter and did not ask, "Where is he at?" By the Eternal! there is a man whose form should be cast in deathless bronze and the statue placed in every college of the land. It is not book-learning young men need, nor instruction about this and that, but a stiffening of the vertebrae which will cause them to be loyal to a trust, to act promptly, concentrate their energies: do the thing- "Carry a message to Garcia!"

General Garcia is dead now, but there are other Garcias.

No man, who has endeavored to carry out an enterprise where many hands were needed, but has been well nigh appalled at times by the imbecility of the average man- the inability or unwillingness to concentrate on a thing and do it. Slip-shod assistance, foolish inattention, dowdy indifference, & half-hearted work seem the rule; and no man succeeds, unless by hook or crook, or threat, he forces or bribes other men to assist him; or mayhap, God in His goodness performs a miracle, & sends him an Angel of Light for an assistant. You, reader, put this matter to a test: You are sitting now in your office- six clerks are within call.

Summon any one and make this request: "Please look in the encyclopedia and make a brief memorandum for me concerning the life of Correggio".

Will the clerk quietly say, "Yes, sir," and go do the task?

On your life, he will not. He will look at you out of a fishy eye and ask one or more of the following questions:

Who was he?

Which encyclopedia?

Where is the encyclopedia?

Was I hired for that?

Don’t you mean Bismarck?

What’s the matter with Charlie doing it?

Is he dead?

Is there any hurry?

Shan’t I bring you the book and let you look it up yourself?

What do you want to know for?

And I will lay you ten to one that after you have answered the questions, and explained how to find the information, and why you want it, the clerk will go off and get one of the other clerks to help him try to find Garcia- and then come back and tell you there is no such man. Of course I may lose my bet, but according to the Law of Average, I will not.

Now if you are wise you will not bother to explain to your "assistant" that Correggio is indexed under the C’s, not in the K’s, but you will smile sweetly and say, "Never mind," and go look it up yourself.

And this incapacity for independent action, this moral stupidity, this infirmity of the will, this unwillingness to cheerfully catch hold and lift, are the things that put pure Socialism so far into the future. If men will not act for themselves, what will they do when the benefit of their effort is for all? A first-mate with knotted club seems necessary; and the dread of getting "the bounce" Saturday night, holds many a worker to his place.

Advertise for a stenographer, and nine out of ten who apply, can neither spell nor punctuate- and do not think it necessary to.

Can such a one write a letter to Garcia?

"You see that bookkeeper," said the foreman to me in a large factory.

"Yes, what about him?"

"Well he’s a fine accountant, but if I’d send him up town on an errand, he might accomplish the errand all right, and on the other hand, might stop at four saloons on the way, and when he got to Main Street, would forget what he had been sent for."

Can such a man be entrusted to carry a message to Garcia?

We have recently been hearing much maudlin sympathy expressed for the "downtrodden denizen of the sweat-shop" and the "homeless wanderer searching for honest employment," & with it all often go many hard words for the men in power.

Nothing is said about the employer who grows old before his time in a vain attempt to get frowsy ne’er-do-wells to do intelligent work; and his long patient striving with "help" that does nothing but loaf when his back is turned. In every store and factory there is a constant weeding-out process going on. The employer is constantly sending away "help" that have shown their incapacity to further the interests of the business, and others are being taken on. No matter how good times are, this sorting continues, only if times are hard and work is scarce, the sorting is done finer- but out and forever out, the incompetent and unworthy go.

It is the survival of the fittest. Self-interest prompts every employer to keep the best- those who can carry a message to Garcia.

I know one man of really brilliant parts who has not the ability to manage a business of his own, and yet who is absolutely worthless to any one else, because he carries with him constantly the insane suspicion that his employer is oppressing, or intending to oppress him. He cannot give orders; and he will not receive them. Should a message be given him to take to Garcia, his answer would probably be, "Take it yourself."

Tonight this man walks the streets looking for work, the wind whistling through his threadbare coat. No one who knows him dare employ him, for he is a regular fire-brand of discontent. He is impervious to reason, and the only thing that can impress him is the toe of a thick-soled No. 9 boot.

Of course I know that one so morally deformed is no less to be pitied than a physical cripple; but in our pitying, let us drop a tear, too, for the men who are striving to carry on a great enterprise, whose working hours are not limited by the whistle, and whose hair is fast turning white through the struggle to hold in line dowdy indifference, slip-shod imbecility, and the heartless ingratitude, which, but for their enterprise, would be both hungry & homeless.

Have I put the matter too strongly? Possibly I have; but when all the world has gone a-slumming I wish to speak a word of sympathy for the man who succeeds- the man who, against great odds has directed the efforts of others, and having succeeded, finds there’s nothing in it: nothing but bare board and clothes.

I have carried a dinner pail & worked for day’s wages, and I have also been an employer of labor, and I know there is something to be said on both sides. There is no excellence, per se, in poverty; rags are no recommendation; & all employers are not rapacious and high-handed, any more than all poor men are virtuous.

My heart goes out to the man who does his work when the "boss" is away, as well as when he is at home. And the man who, when given a letter for Garcia, quietly take the missive, without asking any idiotic questions, and with no lurking intention of chucking it into the nearest sewer, or of doing aught else but deliver it, never gets "laid off," nor has to go on a strike for higher wages. Civilization is one long anxious search for just such individuals. Anything such a man asks shall be granted; his kind is so rare that no employer can afford to let him go. He is wanted in every city, town and village- in every office, shop, store and factory. The world cries out for such: he is needed, & needed badly- the man who can carry a message to Garcia.

Let's hope that is indeed you on another site cross posting, or it is a far more serious charge of plagiarism.
