ABC executives regret their "knee-jerk" decision to fire Roseanne Barr, and now believe that the network's spin-off series The Conners will fail under the weight of its own politically correct hubris, reports the Daily Mail, citing two anonymous execs.

"We didn't think it through properly. What Roseanne did was wrong but we shouldn't have rushed to fire her. It was almost a knee-jerk reaction by Ben [Sherwood] and Channing [Dungey] who should have launched an investigation," said one insider, who added "This would have given them more time to listen to the public, advertisers and cast members to determine the best decision."

The Roseanne reboot - which quickly became ABC's #1 top-rated series in April, was quickly derailed after the network suddenly fired star Roseanne Barr after she compared former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to if the "Muslim brotherhood & Planet of the Apes had a bay," comments which were condemned by Dungey as "abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values."

Barr, 65, was fired before a single advertiser pulled out, just three months into the show's return. Her co-stars immediately turned on her, publicly shunning Roseanne for her tweet.

Jarrett doesn't look black to me.She can easily pass for white.

PC is out of control. So many on the left want to control everyone else thought process.

However, Obama shirts...... no prolem bro

The Conners without Roseanne may as well be titled The Smiths. She was the focal character of the Roseanne show and the Hollyweird suits who think this replacement version is gonna fly ain’t very smart IMO.

LOL, The Conners hasn't even aired and they are already predicting its failure.

The problem the show will have without Roseanne is the jokes will come across as trying to hard to be funny without Barr. The lefty writers will not able to produce the balance Barr brought to the show and it will become just one more failure for the left.

Can't wait for TRUMP's tweets mocking the left for screwing up.

I never thought Rosanne was funny on the shows first run.

The rehash seemed lame and forced.

While I don't agree with the networks decision of firing her, I just never liked her.

The Daily Mail quotes "anonymous execs?" Sounds a lot more like the Daily Mail's opinion, to me.

Well, this is just another example of the corrosive power of PC. It causes people to do and say things, or NOT do or say things, that they otherwise would.

It intimidates, it distorts, it threatens, it enables honesty in NO way. It is cowardly.

And by the way, that photo helps nothing.
.

The photo helps nothing? Why? Isn't it just a fun picture that should not offend anyone? What kind of PC snowflake would find issue with that photo?

The fact that Ms. Jarrett is a native of Iran made it very unlikely to the average person that she was black. I'm sure there are blacks in China or Afghanistan too, but very rare. Barr didn't know Jarrett's official racial identity

I've never been an avid watcher, but out of what I have seen of the show, Darlene had the funniest lines. When Roseanne wanted a name for her restaurant, Darlene's suggestion was "Beef And Barf". :D :D :D

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. D.J.'s suggestion is what she went with: The Lunch Box. :) :) :)

No, the writers have decided to kill her off on the show, literally. When this new thing starts, the first episode will start with Roseannes death.

This show is going to flop badly.
