A Liberal Reponse To Conservatives

:clap2:

Bravo sir.

See we don't say "We can't"

We say "Yes We Can!"

We are great, but its because we build. But not to Republicans, is making the rich richer and destroying the middle class. But thats just the free market!!!

We believe America can do and will do anything and everything. I don't see that from Republicans anymore. I hear alot of talk, but not alot of action.

Liberal Democrat John F. Kennedy declared that we would go to the moon. Conservative Republican Chris Christie tells us that we are incapable of building a railroad tunnel beneath the Hudson River.

Yet it was Eisenhower (R) who funded the space program @ 100 million a year and formed NASA. Project Mercury was initiated in 1958. :eusa_eh:

Kennedy may have *formally* declared we were going to the moon -- the race started in 1958 before Kennedy was even elected.

After the existing Apollo program was chartered by President John F. Kennedy on May 25, 1961 to land men on the Moon, it became evident to NASA officials that a follow-on to the Mercury program was required to develop certain spaceflight capabilities in support of Apollo. Originally introduced on December 7 as Mercury Mark II, it was re-christened Project Gemini on January 3, 1962. The major objectives were: Project Gemini - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dear Cafe-oh-late to reality...

Introduction

In spring 1961, President John F. Kennedy approved a mission to land a man on the Moon by the end of the decade. Project Apollo was already underway in its very early stages, with only a circumlunar goal. At the time that Kennedy established his lunar landing goal, the civilian space agency NASA was only two and a half years old and the United States had only 15 minutes of human spaceflight experience.

Background Analysis

Again, it was Eisenhower who started NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958) and funded NASA-- Kennedy formally announced plans to go to the moon. IT had already been started-- the Race to the Moon started in 1958.

He discussed going to the moon far before Kennedy did:

History: Race to the Moon (Outreach) @ LROC

He was concerned about the cost since we did not have 'enemies' there. Senator William Knowland (R) convinced him that it was a good idea. Link above.

I could really give a shit less about the politics of it all as you try to spin it but the history of space is something that has always intrigued me.

As I stated in my first post on this thread the Race to the Moon started in 1958 -- Kennedy ( as I said above) formally announced the plans.

So this thread's premise is not based on fact, just an idea someone got in their head. If a Liberal/Marxist is wrong about basic facts in history, simple facts someone can find out in a few seconds, how much effort has that person put into investigating the basis for all their ideals.

United we stand, divided we fall.
