....but an excellent President.

An earlier thread suggested that the astute voter chooses policies, not personalities....or skin color...
http://www.usmessageboard.com/threads/trump the-policies-not-the-person.655022/

...and we saw the proof of same last night.

1. For two years, we have watched pretty much the regular suspects...some of whom behaved as expected....the Democrats....many of whom did not.

Lets put the Democrat's behavior aside, they're simply wind-up toys who say exactly what we'd expect them to.....the party brooks no exceptions.

2. But many Republicans were ready to turn America over to the congenital liar and career criminal, who had been bribed by Russia on more than one occasion.
The 'never-Trumpers.'

3. The brilliant Ben Shapiro was one such never-Trumper.
But.....

4. "Can a Flawed Man Be a Good President?

5."...to put it mildly, gross.
But Trump isn't exactly shy about his grossness. "Loser" is one of his favorite terms of art.

6.All of this has been brushed off by conservatives. After all, Trump is providing some of the most conservative policy of the last half-century.

7. ...a massive tax cut into law but he has also slashed regulations, repealed the individual mandate, nominated conservative judges, moved the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, supported the anti-Iranian alliance in the Middle East and moved to box in Russia. He has presided over massive economic growth at home and the collapse of the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

8. Can a bad man make a good president? The answer, obviously, should be yes."
Ben Shapiro - Can a Flawed Man Be a Good President?

Pres. Trump has been compared to Pres. Andrew Jackson.

Who was a very flawed, thin skinned man, quick to anger, and would hold a grudge till death. He was an unabashed nationalist who took on anyone, anytime, any where. Yet, Pres. Jackson proved to be one of our best presidents, flaws and all. .....

Let’s be honest, if Trumped never tweeted, never bragged about grabbing female anatomy, in fact if he were somehow made to be unable to talk or tweet at all, most Americans would think he was doing a fabulous job.

Interesting analogy, Sunni...Jackson, our first non-aristocrat President, and this one, a non-politician.

The establishment politicians hated Pres. Jackson, yet the average citizen loved the guy.

Remind you of anyone? ....

The establishment on both sides hate Trump....here's my explanation:
...he is a threat to their wealth.

Trump Attack on Regulation Starts To Win Admiration Both At Home and Abroad - The New York Sun

Most important to the tyrants...er, Congressmen....is that by producing regulations that stymie businesses....said businesses have to bribe....er, lobby....the Representative to put in loopholes.

Ending regulation is an existential danger to their sinecures: they go to Washington to do good, and end up doing well.

Every notice how many Congressmen leave government far richer than when they went in?

Ben Shapiro continues, making the case for ‘bad’ men as politicians…

9. “Machiavelli suggested back in the 16th century that perhaps only a bad man can be a good politician. Machiavelli stated that virtue is an unrealistic and counterproductive standard for a statesman -- what is needed is virtu, a capacity to use virtue and vice for the achievement of a specific end. Even Aristotle, a devotee of virtue, suggested that good citizens need not be good men.’
Op. Cit.

10.If that were the case, and if Trump were a ‘bad man’….well, then Democrat voters should be carrying him on their shoulders!

After all, they voted for the most despicable man twice….Barack Obama….

..who lied about healthcare to saddle Americans with huge increases in cost, and loss of their doctors…

…who lied about the necessity of awarding nuclear weapons to the world’s worst state sponsor of terrorism….

…and who stopped the Federal government from preventing Hezbollah from selling $ billion dollars in cocaine in the United States.

What a cur.

Yet we still have violations of the asset and forfeiture rights and laws done by our govt.. yet you adorate these people, you are some sick fucks alright..

There is a biblical passage that suggests that an individual, not perfect in any way, could be used for a purpose greater than himself....

20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use.

21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
2 Timothy 2:20-21
