73% of Republicans think Tariffs will help the US

then why do we have 4% uneployment?

That is full employment. Unemployment can never be zero. There is always a percentage of workers in flux.
12 million?

12 million what?
people. 4%

Ok.....lol. What does 12 million people mean?
unemployed. you should learn math. it's a skill that comes in handy. 4% of 300 million people math wise is 12 million people and unemployment is 4%.

We have more jobs than people willing to work them.
then why do we have 4% uneployment?
Now THAT"S what Ah'm talkin' bout. LOL
why aren't we training 12 million people to work?
Hutch prolly red that in a book.
prolly not. you're not good at this. just saying.
There's no real reason unemployment can't be zero. Really. You don't need to read it in a book.

As new tariffs take hold, more see negative than positive impact for the U.S.

77% dems say bad thing.

The poll doesn't differentiate tariffs on countries with manipulated currency and below cost prices, but it still strikes me as odd. The gop is now isolationist.

And look at the break between college and non-college educated. And white grads and non-grads

Strange days indeed.
republicans are tired of other countries stealing our country's profits. why is that so difficult for you?
US companies have been making more in the last year than ever. And so Trump says they need help. So he gives them tax breaks.

Did they raise wages or give bonuses, yea, on like 2.7% of all workers.

Did they create more jobs. Not any more than Obama.

So what did they do with it?

Stock buy backs so they could own more.

And that's it.

Now they are richer than ever and ignorant, know nothing Trump supports say they don't have enough.

I don't get it.

Isn't it fscinating how he's now arguing the economy isn't really good and that he doesn't even realize it?

Part of that cruel "irony," is that a good chunk of our stocks are owned by foreigners....including many Russian oligarchs.

I actually looked up the numbers since you were nit picking.

I never said it did. I said we should train the unemployed. not sure how you get that means I think zero unemployment. not at all. jobs change everyday. be nice to have a bullpen if jobs are available. why are you against that?

You just posted the stat. The labor force is 162 mil with 6.2m unemployed. They aren't permanently unemployed.

where do you think the number comes from ace? the 257 eligible workers. Open the link and read. I thought that was your glory statement. I guess not.

Obviously tariffs are necessary when there is unfair dumping like China does with solar and steel. Whenever there is a trade deficit, as we have now and have had for decades, that is a serious problem and major changes should be tried in order to correct that fatal problem.

already explained. you just need to read a little.
Yeah. You complained about fair trade versus free trade.

And I explained to you that tariffs cost consumers and domestic producers.

To which you replied nothing.
Well, JC's sort of an example of why I questioned the poll or maybe it's methodology. If you asked whether tariffs on china were good and whether tariffs of the eu were good, as separate questions, you might get differing results. The EU's currency floats, and it can be sued through the WTO for predatory pricing .... and it builds more cars here than we buy.

But as it is, we have 70% of republicans thinking Obama's a muslim and 70% thinking free trade is not good. That's a change. And if the republican party is the "conservative" party, that is a remarkable change. And I'm not sure where America is going. What with the dems embracing socialist candidates, at least in some districts.
The Democrat candidates labeled Socialist are being labeled Socialist by Trumpians. While Trumpians can fairly be labeled Nationalists. National populism is what has brought us to the state of affairs we suffer through today.

The country is moving left faster than ever. The “right” now adopts polices that we’re far left 20 years ago.
