Do you not understand that anyone who buys bonds is loaning money to someone to be spent? Are you that retarded?
SSA is not buying bonds it has no money to buy anything. What comes in that goes out. What we buy that goes to general fund.
You didn't tell me what SSA should be doing with the revenue that comes in and is held in the Trust Fund.

Eh??
What fucking trust fund? Read the article. There is no money in the trust fund.

There is over 2 trillion dollars in the trust fund.

The discussion is, äääh, interesting.
What did you expect? Many are in church or on the beach or little league or whatever.
But NYC is hanging tough fiercely fighting for the "who can make himself the stupidest trophy"

Hmmmmmm?

Why the reference to NYC?
It's not New York City. It is NYcarbineer

Ahhhhhhhh, well I will leave you two to bang each other up if that's what you need.....
I am OK. He just cannot believe that SSA Funds are spent and the trust fund is empty or near empty. Yeah, we exchange kind word too but it makes it more interesting.

They are not 'spent'. They are loaned. They are loaned in the safest bond on the planet.

Where's your better idea?

there is no such thing as a social security trust fund. LBJ did away with that when it was merged with the general fund. people working today are paying for those on SS today. you are buying into a fiscal fantasy.

If you are going to troll like a fool, at least do it right.

Would you have preferred Yuri Gagarin's space voyage ... Or possibly the 1934 Senate vote that attempted to eliminate tax dodging?
Perhaps you would prefer to read Sir Edmond Hillary's journal excerpt form April 12th, 1953?

Well, you could first bring me a Cappuccino, my slippers and the newspaper.

Thank you, beautiful.

None of those answers support your position.

If SS revenues were part of the general fund, then the federal government wouldn't have to issue bonds to the Trust Fund.

There is over 2 trillion dollars in the trust fund.
Let it rest. I do not have any idea where your data is coming from. Are you making this shit up?

If the government is unable to repay the loan as it is at the moment that means "There is no money in the trust fund" There is an IOU and that's not immediately available for redemption.

its a government version of 3 card monty. there is no SS lock box. all govt revenues go to the same place. Those paying into SS today are not having their money put away for their retirement. But believe whatever makes you feel good.

In a brief respite from the topic at hand, but with the intent to clarify a point dear to my heart ... No offense intended.

I have never ... Ever ... In the slightest degree of consent ... Desired to be considered or respected as "equal" to anyone.
That would in itself negate the necessity and honorable idea of continuous improvement ... And the desire to strive for a higher understanding or at the least improved processes.

We are all a work of art painted by our life's endeavors ... Forged and tempered through conflict.

Coincidence? Planning?

Discuss.

They are completely different. FDR was one of the worst Presidents in our country's history. He destroyed the Supreme Court's and coerced them to ignore the 10th amendment, then in his quest for unlimited government buried us in socialism and was the father of one of the two greatest government dependency programs in the history of America, social security. Tax withholding eliminated people's grasp of just how much we are spending on government.

Hillary on the other hand is a hack leftist sell out. She wouldn't be noteworthy as President, just a placeholder. She's unpleasant and won't get what she asks for. She'd be like Al Gore, wanting hard left but unable to get it so she's just ineffective. Wow, Bill would like to be first stud though

That makes no sense. Why would the government need to suddenly pay out 2 trillion in SS benefits?

Again, go argue with the SSA:

All securities held by the trust funds are "special issues" of the United States Treasury. Such securities are available only to the trust funds.

In the past, the trust funds have held marketable Treasury securities, which are available to the general public. Unlike marketable securities, special issues can be redeemed at any time at face value.
