Happy anniversary to us!


For the first time I can remember, we both managed to find the absolutely perfect and appropriate Hallmark cards for each other.

We took the dog to the vet this morning to have him examined and signed out of home quarantine (bit the neighbor 10 days ago). They put him on glucosamine chewies which he (thankfully) ate.
At 14/15 he's maybe got a couple more years left in him.

Off to a nice dinner when we get off from work this evening.

Marriage can be an absolute bitch at times, but it's worth having the familial comfort zone in life.

It took me 60 years to get it right. We don't think about what might have been if we had been able to get together before. We met and fell in love in 1973 but life got in the way and we couldn't be together. We found each other again in 2004, married in 2007 and it has been perfect.

Believe it or not, my story parallels yours quite closely.

I will be married 42 years next Monday.

I am often told that I should be congratulated for this "accomplishment."

It's no accomplishment in my case. My wife is a "keeper." Obviously.

90% of our marital strife was directly due to her mother's meddling, but she has been dead for several years now. Thank God.
