Zimmerman charged 2nd degree murder

TM had every bit as much right to be out there as GZ without the perp following him then shooting him when he was taken down.

The jury will need to decide the extent of a "depraved mind" if it decides to consider Murder in the 2nd.

OR reckless disregard.

Yeah. Do you think this will plea-bargained to voluntary manslaughter or even involuntary?

I can't imagine GZ's attorneys saying, "Yeah, let's go for broke, you only can go to jail forever if we screw up."

That's a bs law. Murder has to have intent. That should not even be Constitutional. Man Slaughter is w/o intent.

Anyways, Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey is just c____ that put up that charge to save her job. She knew the facts and she still decided to try an innocent man. I hope she gets fired when it comes back not guilty (of course she won't).

He is not innocent. He put himself in a situation that got another innocent person killed, much like a drunk driver does. He will most likely face 2 to 5 years in prison, but not life. As for him being arrested, and no bond set, due to the race pimps stirring the shit, jail may be the safest place for him at this time.

George Zimmerman had has much right to be out there as Trayvon Martin. That is not man slaughter just because they were both outside. Who attacked who? Zimmerman had a right to defend himself.

Why your gun culture sux big time

That aside, if the wannabe cop Zimmerman just stayed at home minding his own business, this sorry incident would never have happened...

She is STATE; in Florida you can get 15 YEARS for Agg. Assault, minimum MANDATORY 3 years for possession of FOUR GRAMS of an opiate based painkiller not prescribed for you. FIFTEEN years min. mandatory for 14 grams or more. Say hello to the Criminal PUNISHMENT Code, rehabilitation is secondary to PUNISHMENT.

A bit of a tangent. But I agree that that's BS.

More charged since the CPC went into effect also.

ummm... okay... not sure what your point is, Peach...

Florida is VERY tough on crime, we have some of the longest sentences allowed in the nation. Jeb Bush enacted the CPC.

lol... yeah... 'cept that the folks that backed that crap are the same ones who think Z was justified in what he did...

no wonder everyone hates Florida...

You make it sound like Zimmerman was stalking him. He called the freaking police dude. He has a right to monitor his neighborhood dude.

And he had thought he could be a thief and guess what? He was. He was caught at school with instruments for breaking into houses and a bunch of jewelry that did not belong to him. Stop pretending that TM was a choir boy. He was a thug and frankly it's his disregard for people that cost him his life.

None of that matters at all. At the time he had skittles and tea. Zimmerman had no reason to do what he was doing. He initiated the action that ended in Travon Martens death. By all standards of the neighborhood watch, and every CCW instructor and law enforcement Zimmerman was wrong and his actions ended in the young mans death. The charge is legit.

Yea, give the attacker the pass. If Trayvon didn't attack Zimmerman the incident wouldn't have happened.

Zimmerman instigated the entire incident, from start to finish, GG.

Your dislike of the narrative does not give you any right to sanitize it.

You got that so ass backwards. The point of doing a neighborhood watch is to be a visible deterrent. Martin only had to explain that he lived there. Instead, he wanted to be a thug and attack. Trayvon was wrong and his actions caused his death. Good riddance.

Nope. Zimmermans actions did. Marten was under no obligation to explain shit to Zimmerman. Zimmerman needed to do no more then stay in his car and talk to the police. Zimmerman acted outside the bounds of what neighborhood watch does, and against everything taught by CCW instructors, as well as law enforcement, not to mention abused the intent of the stand your ground law.

actually all zimmermen needed to do was identify himself as neighborhood watch and tell him police had been called...he did not want to deter he wanted to play hero and not let another one...get away

bad actors all around lead to a bad conclusion...

loser wanna-be-cop with a gun patrols his neighborhood that's been hit by several burglaries...

surly black teenager (probably muttering to himself as he goes) is walking back to his dad's house with stuff from the convenience store for his half-brother...

it's dark and drizzling...

Florida statute 2nd degree means there was NO intent to kill.
Fair and who is to question the authorities after a lengthy investigation?
Allows wiggle room for manslaughter plea.
Most likely as I stated from the the go the nuisance 911 calls he continuously made played a part and he was carrying the gun.

He is not innocent. ....
That is EXACTLY what he is until proven otherwise in a court of law.

This is how we do things in the USA.

My bad if she's state. I must not have looked closely enough at the quick links. She's still caving to pressure though. She didn't want that mob and all the political witch hunters coming after her. Better him than me was her motto.
If she is caving in to overwhelming evidence that we are not privy to, and can make the 2nd degree charge stick then she is doing her job well.

Those folks might run into the CPC on vacation in Florida; watch your step.

Zimmerman wasn't on watch that night; he said was on his way to the grocery store.

Had he been on watch, there would have been a second person with him.

You remind me of my youngest son. He picks a fight with his older brother and then gets pummelled. Then turns around and says "he hit me"...

Actions cause reactions.

For the most part. And that's what got him the 2nd degree murder charge.

He sounded scared from the parts of his cell phone call to his girlfriend, that I have read.

Over charging is the norm these days.
If this goes to a jury trial they will get a lesser charge from the judge most likely.
As soon as this dies down I expect a plea. Let it go a year.
