My concerns about a so called mineral deal is that it changes war into a war of business. It's a two edged sword so to speak.

If Zelinsky agrees to such a deal, then he Zelinsky might figure that the deal will include security by the United States for payment in rare earths that would protect Ukraine (i.e. a hired gun) ?????

So next he'll be requesting millions if not billions more dollar's in order to fight the war if it keeps going after such a deal is made, and what if Putin disagrees with such a deal ????

What if Putin decides that he's not going to allow Ukraine to make any deals with the west, otherwise that would empower Ukraine to then stick it's middle finger up or to provoke Putin after standing behind the west if it were to go that route ?

I don't like for a peace agreement between two warring parties to include business deals, but rather that peace agreements are done for humanitarian reason's for the most part, and to just get the peace agreement done based upon it's just the right thing to do for both sides.

The elements in the peace deal should focus on land borders, border disputes, cultural aspects reviewed, religious aspects reviewed, economies reviewed, and the characteristics of both parties that are involved reviewed.

We have to be the unbiased patriarch that wants to help settle the situation as a benefit to both sides in the mediation, and this without material thing's such as money or resources coming into play that would appear to be paying the peace negotiator off.

After a humanatarian settlement or peace is made, and Russia and Ukraine stops their fighting, then it would be appropriate to ask Ukraine for a possible pay back once it is getting back on it's feet again.

Once the killing stops, and both sides agree to the demilitarized lines or new borders gained or drawn for the citizen's within those borders, then business deals can be made to help either nation to stop their pain and suffering from a ridiculous war that should have never happened.
