Your rights when stopped by police

Its good to put things into perspective.

If youre pulled over for speeding, its best not to be an obstinant prissy prick to the Officer just "because" its one of those "cool" times you can "exercise" your rights.

They usually know their shit better than you do, and youre only fucking yourself in the end. Much ado about nothing usually, too. Cooperation generally sends you home on your Merry way. Being a dick causes turnabout.

Be polite to the officer.

It's not hard.

His truncheon is, and Utah cops have no qualms about hurting people: ask Danielle Willard. Oh, that's right you can't. She's dead.

You have a right to fast if pulled over by the police?

Everybody knows that

It is better to always remember that the asshole that is stopping you can't ask you anything, search you or your vehicle, can be video recorded and be forced to live with the video being posted on YouTube, and needs to remember that, even if he thinks he is smart enough to ignore all of that and get away with it.

When stopped by the police, you have a right to a cheeseburger

For the past 12 days Meacham hasn't eaten anything. He's surviving solely on water and an occasional vitamin.

So far he's lost 25 pounds.

Meacham tells Reporter Brian Carlson he's fasting to convince Utah to exercise the option of “nullification.” It's posted on Meacham's blog. According to his interpretation of states’ rights, Utah can nullify the recent federal court ruling by simply choosing not to follow it.

"Jefferson made clear that the courts are not the supreme arbitrators of what is and what is not constitutional. The states also have power," said Meacham.
You have to admire Mr. Meacham's determination. I would not have the will power to do what he is doing.

If nullification would not be possible, then I guess Utah residents could be asked at the mid terms later this year if they approve of gay marriage. I guarantee Utah would vote against it.

Our rights are more about judicial procedure. When a police officer stops you, while you have many rights to be sure, ultimately whatever the officer orders you to do you must do. If you resist, announce you have the right to this or that, you'll be arrested. You'll actually have those rights when ever your lawyer arrives, but until then, though you have rights, in practice you don't.

We mustn't admire nor respect a fool's ignorance of the law.

"Nullification, in United States constitutional history, is a legal theory that a state has the right to nullify, or invalidate, any federal law which that state has deemed unconstitutional. The theory of nullification has been rejected repeatedly by Federal courts, and it has rarely been legally upheld."

So, this guy is going to put his health at risk, perhaps even die, over this? Kinda going overboard, isn't he?
