The previous admin expanded medicare to where 400,000 more people who didn't have health coverage, now has health coverage......I am sure Youngkin will cut that coverage on day one right?

Have to disagree with the OP. While that scene was a huge decider, I think it started with Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and his unwillingness to take accountability. While gas prices rise, supplies are hard to find and COVID deaths continue (with a vaccine), McAuliffe runs against Trump who isn't president anymore while Youngkin runs on policy. Education was the nail in the coffin.

Bull. You leave out, Youngkin was not a bad candidate, mp fire breathing trumpist and used an excellent stratagem. In a local statewide race he ran on local statewide issues, having said publicly he would have certified the 2020 vote against trump and then turned down ever offer to have trump appear with him on a campaign stage venue. If you want to piss off all centrists, all independents and give pause to all parents no matter their party alliance, tell them they have no business making decision in their children's public education at the hands of the state and should stay out of it, turning it over to the political doctrinaires of either party.

McAuliffe, wanted to run against Trump or party politics at the least, but Youngkin denied the opportunity for it to be effective, by keep trump at arms length, knowing the imagery of appearing with somebody in favor of negating legitimate vote and decision-making of the electorate, would give his opponent, just that opportunity. It is the one thing that scare the beejesus out of normal Americans, brought up to revere the constitution and rule of law.

McAuliffe, a mediocre, Clinton baggage carrying candidate at best, blew it on local issues and could not elevate the importance of party politics enough to sway the crowd. It is a cautionary tale for future Democrats seeking office, and a possible road map for Republicans wanting to run for state offices in the future, to distance and keep Donny out of sight as much as possible.
