Youngkin Wins a Stay in SCOTUS! Supreme Court reinstates Youngkin’s voter purge order in Virginia

Supreme Court reinstates Youngkin’s voter purge order in Virginia

Virginia can cancel more than 1,600 voter registrations the state claims are held by noncitizens in advance of next week’s election, the Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday.

The emergency decision marks a loss for the Biden administration, which convinced lower courts to reinstate the registrations because the removals took place too close to the election.

The court’s three liberals – Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson, publicly dissented.

State officials claim the list comprises noncitizens, but a district judge found that some were eligible voters and Virginia officials hadn’t shown the others “were, in fact, noncitizens.”

Dems be mad....At least common sense prevailed.

It's a damn same liberals caused this to even be sent to SCOTUS in the first place.

This is still in court. You want a win so bad that you just keep making it up. Out of those 1600, they found that some just made a mistake in filling out the mail in ballot, and others because a recent citizen. Until those people are satisfied then there will be no blanket purge taking place.

Yes.....I'm sure you can nitpick the shit out of any title or statement in the OP.

But the fact is the Supreme Court has given Virginia the authority to start purging registrations that don't follow the law or didn't provide a proper response when it was required.

In all honesty, I wonder why anyone would want to allow registrations to stand that aren't valid our expired. Only a Democrat would want to use Dead People's registrations, or non-citizen registrations to commit election fraud.

Must be because their policies suck ass.
:iagree:

Illegal aliens voting trying to vote okay in Georgia again

How are they registering in the first place? The problem is that they do not require those who register to prove citizenship.

It is like a feeding frenzy to get people registered to vote and thus lies the real problem.

Another interesting ruling by the court.

Tuesday, the justices batted away a bid by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who dropped his independent campaign for the White House in August, to remove his name from the ballots in two crucial battleground states, Michigan and Wisconsin.

now that is interesting. With his name on the ballot will this drain people from voting for Trump. Or will they be smart enough to know not to vote for kennedy as it may drain Trump votes.?????

Wrong. In the state of Virginia, you can be automatically registered to vote, by checking the box on the application for your drivers license, which requires your birth certificate at the time of license application. Since Virginia is a real ID state, a birth certificate, and one other form of ID is required also for the license.
Virginia only requires "legal presence" to get a driver's license.

That is not the same as citizenship.

A few weeks ago. How long does it take to walk into an office improve your citizenship?

First you need to be notified
Then you have to gather acceptable paperwork
Then get an appointment to present your case

90 days has been the accepted time

And why was that?
Supposedly because there was a conflict between what was claimed on a DMV form and voter registration

Why do you oppose letting people explain why there is a conflict and provide documentation?

None of that takes 90 days but just out of curiosity how many have actually attempted to prove their citizenship?

Anyone wanting to contest it could be sent to a hotline to expedite the matter. The funny part is, these people have no interest in testing it. I wonder why?

How do you know they are noncitizens?

They might have not been citizens when they checked the block and became citizens later.

They have a right to prove their eligibility to vote.
Less than 90 days is not enough time
Sure sure fort fun!

Because the instructions don't come in Spanish:auiqs.jpg:;);)

How do you know they are not citizens if you don’t give them time to prove it?
They cannot just show up with their birth certificate or show proof of naturalization when they registered? That's all they had to do! Many signed affidavits that they were not US citizens to get out of jury duty. Should we reinstate them on the assumption that they lied?

When were they called for jury duty?
When did they check the noncitizen block at DMV?
They could have gained citizenship afterwards

They deserve 90 days to contest the Virginia decision.
That is the law
