It's a serious answer.It's a serious question....
There is little question . Those states with GOP legislatures would vote R regardless of how their states votedThe House elects the President.
The House votes by state delegation, with each delegation getting one vote - 50 total votes.
The GOP holds a delegation majority in like 30 states.
The only question is if they would select Trump.
what do state legislatures have to do with it?There is little question . Those states with GOP legislatures would vote R regardless of how their states voted
I see no mention in the 12th Amendment of breaking a tie for VP.
There is little question . Those states with GOP legislatures would vote R regardless of how their states voted
This might be a first, but I agree with you! You even got a "WINNER" logo on that post. Its unlikely to happen but it does underscore the sheer idiocy of having an even number of electoral votes available.
Explain what you think is the differenceIt's the State house delegations who vote internally, and then say what their State is voting for, not the State legislatures.
The state legislatures have nothing to do with it -- the members of each state delegation choose among themselves. There is little question . Those states with GOP legislatures would vote R regardless of how their states voted
once in a while an acorn found. This might be a first, but I agree with you! You even got a "WINNER" logo on that post.
It is ridiculous.
Every now and then you open your mind up to reason. This might be a first, but I agree with you! You even got a "WINNER" logo on that post.
It is ridiculous.
Explain what you think is the difference
The state legislatures are not members of the house; the members of the house make the decision.Explain what you think is the difference
Trump better get a food taster, then. Thus my question earlier....
If trump wins the house as president and Waltz wins the Senate as VP,
then WHAT HAPPENS under the existing rules?
Do you think those GOP House members would vote as their state voted?it's the people voting that is the difference.
The State legislatures have zero control over the house members from a given State.
So if 15 people are from a State, they vote, and the majority vote decides who they back in the Tie breaker election.
Do you think those GOP House members would vote as their state voted?
Me either. My point stands
Your "point" is factually false...Me either. My point stands
Its unlikely to happen but it does underscore the sheer idiocy of having an even number of electoral votes available.
it's inherent on how ties are broken in the Senate. Barring the 12th changing that, the standard method applies.
