Desertification need not be permanent.

Back in the day before the great migration to Californication, the southern area below Monterey was pretty much desert. Along came man with his canal system taking water that was plentiful in the north and diverting it down to that desert. Soon Los Angeles sprung up along with San Diego, but the jewel was around the Hollywood sector because that was where all the rich people went, because it was made into paradise. Now fast forward to the liberals who have been in charge of Californication, and we see today that it is more important for the delta smelt to have all that water, and the rest of Southern Cal, be damned. So now all those fires happening, then mudslides, what is next an earthquake? That at least wont be the fault of the liberals, at least if they dont bomb the shit out of that state...

Actually that greening of the deserts is called Permaculture and is used worldwide and includes specific plantings and care that increases soil fertility and structure and decreases the need for water.

The so called 'Grandfather' of permaculture is Bill Mollison, who taught Geoff Lawton back in 1983, who's become a consultant, designer and teacher. Lawton also has an online course and many videos of his projects.

Ya outta watch & check him out, ya might learn something

Why is one of the first claims in that video... "water is getting scarce," when there's no more or less water on earth than there was a billion years ago?

Yes, the increase in CO2 has been regreening the Sahara. Multiple threads have been posted over the years.

Now you try and claim it......

What a sad person.

Looks like rocks has seen the writing on the wall...his dream is dying and like all cultists, feels the need to double down on his previous claims. Guess he doesn't realize that the earth has been steadily greening since the 80's....

What a dumb ass you continue to be. No, the increase in CO2, if continued, will negate all these efforts. And you claim to be a geologist. LOL

One simply cannot make up what damned idiotic statements you assholes make. Yes, water is getting scarce;

Most of the countries around the world that have GREENED the desert have done so with DeSalination plants........................A move that California fought tooth and nail against............UNTIL they were hit with Water Restrictions..................and go SHIT WE ARE OUT OF WATER....

Same with the Forests.............who have created a bug infested dying forest due to their policies.......at least 5 million trees are dead there because of their policies........and now they are burning to the ground due to there stupidity...........

This is just a GREEN BS MACHINE THREAD..........Funny coming from the people who fought tooth and nail against what turned the desert to a garden all over the world.

Sorry rocks...but he planet is greening, and it has been for decades. And science is admitting that it is due to the increase in CO2. CO2 is, after all plant food...the empirical evidence of greater plant growth when more CO2 is present is undeniable, unless you are a world class, top shelf science denier. The empirical evidence that CO2 is having an effect on the global climate, however, is non existent.

The fact is that 74% of the globe has greened since 1981 and CO2 is to blame...and the fact that the earth has further warmed out of the little ice age.

It seems paradoxical: Although the rainforest in the tropics is extensively destroyed, the vegetation on Earth has been spreading for decades, according to satellite data.In the December issue, bild of science sheds light on what this greening is all about. In addition, the title theme includes a look at the sometimes problematic state of the German forest.Bad news on the way – Climate change and environmental degradation threaten to devastate our planet, many studies show: forests are being cut down and droughts and soil erosion are destroying more and more areas of land. From orbit, our planet as a whole would have to look increasingly browner, one might think. But, astonishingly, the opposite is true: according to a report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, satellite observations show that vegetation has been greened over the past three decades in parts of Asia, Europe, South America, Central North America and South-East Australia. There are regions that become browner, but the bottom line is that a larger area on our planet is green than browned, it concludes. In the title theme "The World Is Greened", the bdw author Jan Berndorff investigates the questions of what lies behind the surprising effect, what the development means and how it could go further.

He is a geologist and is apparently keeping up with the actual science...You, on the other hand are a hand waving hysteric who wouldn't know science if it bit you in the ass..and when it does, I am quite sure that you are more than willing to deny it in favor of your quasi religious belief in whatever your cult leaders tell you to believe.

What a silly ass liar you are. Name the ocean near the Loess Plateu? Desalination remains a very expensive process, and I know of know area where vast acreages have been reclaimed using desalinated water.

Only pointing out your delusions rocks...and attempting to explain why you seem to be literally vibrating with handwaving hysterics over the past few days. You have always been a nut, prone to wild exaggerations, but you seem to be energized to a whole new level of hysteria...what happened...did you finally get that T-Shirt and photo, suitable for framing, autographed by Greta and let it push you over the edge?

Science says that CO2 is responsible for the greening of the earth..it isn't rocket science...CO2 is plant food and plant fuel...Further warming out of the little ice age can't have hurt either...

CO2 destroys plant life? Is this some alien CO2?

CO2 is the foundational backbone of life you imbecile. The more CO2 in the atmosphere the more plant growth you get.

You failed middle school science didn't you.

That may be so in that location..........but in California the GREEN MECCA of the liberals .......they fought tooth and nail against it...............

And their problems with not controlling their forests..........well they are burning to the ground because of it.
