... If lunatics in the NE and on the West Coast want to ruin their kids, that is on them....
The best schools in the country are in MA.

Don't forget to mean it when you give the pledge. The purpose of public education is to teach the youngsters to submit to the authority of the state.
Ya, that makes sense. lmaoTo be stolen from the people and redistributed to corporations and special interests. Were you born last night?
Your meltdowns are awesomerich bitches making moves they don't understand.
Show us the receipts from the donations. In my mammoth local school district, the NEA garnishes public school teachers wages for union dues — whether they agree to partake or not — and then donates to the DNC.
Redundancy will not make you relevantYour meltdowns are awesome
It makes sense only because that is what is now and has been happening in this country for many decades. Ike warned about it in 1961 but it fell on deaf ears. Our political system is owned by the Israeli State and the Military Industrial Complex.Ya, that makes sense. lmao
Don't forget to mean it when you give the pledge.
Them crackers down there in Gooberville don’t need none of that Yankee book learning crap. But it hasn’t. Our educational system has digressed yearly since Carter, a Democrat, created the DOA.
Schools should be run state by state and county by county. If lunatics in the NE and on the West Coast want to ruin their kids, that is on them. I have a feeling that there are some normal families in those states that would kick the lefty loons to the curb.
No, I don’t need to back up your claims.
Right wingers do this all the time.
If you don’t have the integrity to stand behind your own claims, it’s not my problem.
Vouchers are a state issue and are doomed to failure as they have always been.Get rid of the Dept. of Education and employ school vouchers!
Good schools get stronger...shit schools die out.
Really? Were you a teacher in Arkansas, Louisiana, or Mississippi in the 1970s?Speaking as a geezer parent, grandparent and former teacher I can tell you that public schools were vastly better before the Department of Education set the federal government to meddling in running the schools.
Correlation is not causation. The decline in education had nothing to do with the Education Department, which used to exist as part of another department anyway. They just made it cabinet level to ease enforcement. But it hasn’t. Our educational system has digressed yearly since Carter, a Democrat, created the DOA.

Unions are responsible for teacher rights to compensation, benefits, due process rights, working conditions, and nothing more. They have nothing to do with the educational process or shouldn't like they used to be.Your taxes are going to schools that are falling way short of their mission. Students are graduating as young adults and cannot read or do basic arithmetic. Unions sit idle and watch schools fail.
Hey PeterPuffer. Ever hear of Rural Metro? Or how about UPS, FedEx etc?So are fire departments and the US Postal Service, Public Health Departments and Weather Service.
And tenure. Unions ensure that crappy teachers never get fired, dumbass.Unions are responsible for teacher rights to compensation, benefits, due process rights, working conditions, and nothing more. They have nothing to do with the educational process or shouldn't like they used to be.
Sure as hell does! Before 1978 when the DoE was created (quid pro quo by Jimmah Cahtah to the NEA for their 1976 endorsement), our educational standards and performance were much better. Since then, down the toilet bowl.Correlation is not causation. The decline in education had nothing to do with the Education Department, which used to exist as part of another department anyway. They just made it cabinet level to ease enforcement.
The ignorance in some of these comments is stupefying. What you don't know and assume to be true hurts everyone.
Perhaps we need to get rid of most of the functions as a cabinet-level position because it has served its purpose. I have no problem getting it downsized and incorporated into say HHS. We need to get the feds out of student loans.
The NEA has nothing to do with school funding. Where did you get that silly idea? The NEA. They use the plight of students in failing schools to get more money yet the money never seems to be spent properly..
The unions fight vouchers like the a disease because if there are not enough bodies in under performing schools, then that is less money for the union.
Try getting tenure in a school these days. Let me tell you what schools do. In my state, it took 3 full years to qualify for tenure. Guess at the did to me TWICE! At the end of the third year, they simply declined to renew my contract for the 4th year. Why? I had enough seniority in terms of years of service, they couldn't afford to pay my salary. I lost my last position because they could pay two new teachers coming out of college for what they could pay me. At one of those districts, they gave another teacher tenure because he had less experience and a lower salary. He kept me apprised of my old job. They replaced my position for three consecutive years with first year teachers, who resigned after their first contract was up.And tenure. Unions ensure that crappy teachers never get fired, dumbass.
You will also find the salaries of the teachers there are higher because almost all teachers have an hour or more commute because no one can afford to live in DC in anything but the war zones where the students live. That's why they spend so much per student.DC Public schools is one of the most expensive per capita spend for students at $27k and the system is replete with comparatively lower graduation rates and reading and math scores.
