First, is there any public school that has the authority to ban english?
This is supposedly a report from an Israeli paper, but since there is no link we can't figure what they said. Second, this is supposedly something that is happening in the US.
I do know that kids in lower grades are encouraged to keep their native language and learn in parallel in many districts. This usually brings howls of outrage from the parents, because kids learn languages faster younger.
