I saw Carter's policies ruin this nation. We had close to 20 percent interest rates. Homes could not be sold as fast as they had been selling in 1978-9. People love to whine about Reagan but they ignore the shit mess Carter made. Reagan got us going. We started to make livings again. I won't listen to lying about Reagan. I voted for him thanks to Carter.

I invented to sell homes what I called sleeping second mortgages where the buyers did not have to pay a dime for 5 years into the future on the 2nd loans. Sellers were not real happy but it was what got their homes sold as they wanted out. My sleeping seconds would be paid in full by the Buyers with low rate interest loans I got for them at a discount. In short, thanks to Carter the sellers gave their buyers big discounts so they could get their money. I had just one seller turn this offer down and get the full payment from the buyer. It caused the Buyers to effectively slash their interest to the point they got the home cheaper. Sellers could move on with their lives. All of this depended on the seller having their first loan a GI loan or a FHA loan. Title companies wanted to pay me fees to explain it to other Brokers.

Actually, Reagan just continued the policies Carter started of fighting inflation with unemployment, hitting 11.3% at one point and effectively destroying the middle class.

The thing was, hyperinflation (Much worse than the transitory inflation we have now) had been going on since Nixon.

Government is never fast. It is definite it took past a year for Reagan's policies to be implemented and take good effect. Carter did one good thing I credit him for. He pushed into law many deregulations. I tell this as a person who sold property to buyers and for sellers. I recall that market vividly. Carters policies is why I bailed out on Democrats and never saw a reason to rejoin them. Most Americans did not deal with money daily as I had to do. I told here how I survived the Carter mess. I created the sleeping second. It provided benefits to both seller and buyer. Buyers later paid me a fee to change the sleeping second to a fixed rate mortgage. However all the sleeping seconds as I called them were fixed rate but had no monthly payments. Interest accrued. A seller who waited out the 5 year terms collected more income. Most sellers after about 3 years of Reagan gladly took a discounted cash payment so the Buyer won that way. Why a 5 year term in the years of Carters last term and early into Reagans? Because nobody figured we would be out of Carters mess for at least 5 full years. Actually we got out of it much faster thanks to Reagan's policies. What did I do as a Broker? I owned my office with agents working under me. I put them into the firm as Independent Contractors which for a time the IRS fought.
By the way, Biden is bragging his IRS agents have raked in a billion dollars. At the expense of the working class who he said would not be impacted.

Let's be honest. Trump said it. He said soldiers who end up dead or injured are suckers and losers. So anyone who volunteers for public service and gets injured or killed, is a sucker or loser.
