Boy you really have a low opinion of everyone but yourself.Fishing

Cops go fishing on every stopBoy you really have a low opinion of everyone but yourself.
Police are not going to waste their time or yours fishing for some unknown fact, they are not going to waste their same just trying to trip someone up.
And yet you want to believe that they are going to pull everyone over.Cops go fishing on every stop
Do you know why I pulled you over ?
Where you coming from?
Where you going?
Have you had anything to drink?
Anything in the car I should know about?
If you suspect someone of drinking you should base the stop on erratic driving. And yet you want to believe that they are going to pull everyone over.
They are not fishing. They attempting to determine if you have been drinking or are under the influence.
But hey as I said you think very little of everyone but yourself.
And a person is free to continue on their way, which as you explained means they can "walk away".Nice moving of the goalposts.
Now you’re back to the use of the phrase “Do it walking” as you actually meant it. Not an idiom.
And your “point” is pointless. We’ve already covered that the civilian is free to walk away. That also means he or she doesn’t have to answer at all and that, legally, the law enforcement officer or agent can’t compel the person to answer.
My post was right before the one you answered.Spend time worrying about it.
In fact, have a few sleepless nights.
I said I hadn’t seen your post. And I hadn’t.
ICE uses skin color, language, accent and job as their criteria.I get it you want to pretend that there are not other criteria other than skin color. The problem is there are. So if you want to talk fantasy then we can talk fantasy. Like being detained because you are a wood nymph or a leprechaun.
Yes there are a lot of people that have overstayed visas. All of different skin colors.
To reference an old cop show.Very true
But they are not that clear that you have a choice to decline
It’s not their job to provide the ones they are questioning with any legal advice.Very true
But they are not that clear that you have a choice to decline
Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966) ?It’s not their job to provide the ones they are questioning with any legal advice.
And a person is free to continue on their way, which as you explained means they can "walk away".
The officer, on the other hand, if he wishes to continue to ask questions as the person leaves the scene. The officer has to "DO IT WALKING".
Nope. No vernacular. And also not an idiom. And also not a requirement. Both in vernacular and plain English.
ExactlyIt’s not their job to provide the ones they are questioning with any legal advice.
Based on all your personal experience? Or, is it mere speculation again?Exactly
When they ask for your ID, they make it seem like it is a requirement not an option
That is when you invoke your right to remain silent and repeatedly ask if you are free to goTo reference an old cop show.
You can answer my questions here, or down at the station house.
I watch lots of cop showsBased on all your personal experience? Or, is it mere speculation again?
As prosecutors have often said in response to a defense attorney’s summation about how absurd it is to believe that any person would do what the defendant is accused of doing: “to be sitting in a defendant’s chair does not require that anybody accused of a crime has to be a member of Mensa.”I watch lots of cop shows
Can’t believe how stupid suspects are
Cop: Do you have any guns or drugs?
Suspect: No
Cop: Then you don’t mind if I search your car?
Suspect: No
Cop finds drugs or guns in the search
Lol. I just proved to you that it does.Standing up for your constitutional rights does not make you a suspect
Won’t stand up in courtLol. I just proved to you that it does.
