President Donald Trump on Thursday said that he was extending a pause in attacking Iran’s energy facilities by 10 days, to April 6, at the request of the government of the Islamic Republic.

Trump’s announcement on Truth Social came as key stock market indices fell and oil prices rose.

“As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

When the Dow closed down almost 500 points today and oil rose about 5% on continuing concern about the impasse between the US and Iran I covered my short positions. Thinking trump would not allow things to fester over the w/e. I guessed right.

I've seen some pretty funny overseas commentary today. At this stage, they're in their "dark humor" period, where all they can do is force a smile and hope for the best.

One lady said that, instead of viewing Trump on political and geopolitical terms, we should view him as a natural disaster.
